Stiles felt a little better now that Deaton was up to speed on everything. At least there was a grown adult with experience in all this crap that was with them now.

He also felt safer now that everybody was together. Well, everybody meaning Kitty, Isaac, Lydia and Allison. Scott still wasn't answering his calls and Derek refused to leave Cora. But still. Most everybody was accounted for.

Stiles didn't like how easily Jennifer came along with them to the hospital. It was definitely pinging his suspicious cop's son nature. He had no other choice but to go with the plan they currently had to force her to help Cora. Still, he couldn't help but think everything was going according to Jennifer's plan. He just didn't know what the plan was.

He grabbed a baseball bat out of the back of the jeep when they stopped at the hospital. It wouldn't do much good against the darach, but it was better than nothing.

Thanks to traffic and the delay at the rest stop the cross country team had no choice but to stop somewhere for the night. Since they were in the middle of Nowhere, California options were limited in the way of hotels but eventually the bus stopped at a motel that looked like it had seen better days. A neon green sign that said "Motel Glen Capri" seemed to be designed in a way that looked glamorous but Stiles thought the place would be better suited in a Kubrick film.

"I've seen worse," Scott said as he and Stiles got off the bus.

Stiles lifted an eyebrow. "Where have you seen worse?"
