Derek's Loft | Night

Derek was awfully accommodating when it came to allowing people into his loft despite the fact he knew full well Kali was coming after him and had killed a member of his pack in there before. Maybe Lydia held a lot of clout because he just let her, Ethan and Kitty come right on in.

So strange. But, hey, good news: Cora was alive and well. Maybe the Derek Hale train of pain and horror finally decided to take a pit stop.

Kitty Pryde
This would probably be easier if Kitty was dealing with the Derek she knew, because he was at least used to her, and would probably go if she asked him to in a situation like this. She'd like to think he would, anyway.

It didn't stop her from talking to him like she would her Derek, though. "Hi. So, um. There are alphas coming after you, and you probably shouldn't be here for it."

They were in a time crunch. Just get straight to the point.

Derek Hale
Derek raised his eyebrows as if to say "Who are you again and why are you telling me what to do and why did you bring an alpha to my sweet loft where I may or may not have had sex with the darach in?"

His eyebrows spoke volumes.

Ethan
"We know about the lunar eclipse, so don't think Kali's going to wait around until it levels the playing field," Ethan explained. "My brother's coming with her."

Peter Hale
"Good enough for me," Peter said. "Derek?"

Derek Hale
"You want me to run?" Derek asked with a frown.

Peter Hale
"No, I want you to stay and get slaughtered by an alpha with psychotic foot fetish." Mmm Hale sarcasm. "Of course I want you to run. Sprint, gallop, leap your way the hell out of this town."

Do you want him to be more dramatic, Derek? Because he could be!

Kitty Pryde
Momentary pause for the thought of Derek galloping.

"What he said," Kitty said. "We'd really prefer you didn't get hurt."

And if he left and they didn't have to worry about a fight, then maybe they could focus on one crisis at a time.

Derek Hale
"How do you know I'm going to lose?" Because you lost every fight, Derek?

Peter Hale
"I bet she has an idea," Peter said, looking past Kitty and Ethan until his gaze stopped on Lydia. "Don't you?"

Lydia Martin
Lydia was never going to stop feeling gross whenever Peter looked at her. "I don't know anything."

Peter Hale
"But you feel something, don't you?" Peter, once again showing he knew more about this supernatural crap but he just wasn't willing to share it outright.

Derek Hale
"What do you feel?" Derek asked.

Lydia Martin
"I feel like..." Lydia paused, looking around the room like that could tell her something. If it was, whatever it was saying was not good. "...I feel like I'm standing in a graveyard."

Kitty Pryde
Awesome.

"She knows what she's talking about," Kitty said.

Cora Hale
Finally Cora spoke up. "Derek, if you want to die for something, fine. But do it for something meaningful. This isn't it."

Derek Hale
Derek's shoulders slumped a little, looking a little more convinced. "Fine. Cora, grab whatever you need, we're leaving now."

Ethan
"Kali will be here soon," Ethan said. "We'll stay here and hold her off long enough for you to get out of town."

Kitty Pryde
Wait, had something actually gone right? "We can let you know when it's safe to come back," Kitty offered.

Lydia Martin
Even Lydia was surprised by how easy that was, and she was visibly more relaxed once she wasn't in the same room as Peter Hale.

"How are we supposed to stop Kali when she gets here?" Lydia asked after the Hales had left. "The woman can rip my head off easily."

Kitty Pryde
"There are ways," Kitty said, though most of the ways she could think of were really messy. "At the very least, I can get you out before any head-ripping happens."

Kali
Right on cue the alarm to Derek's loft starting going off. Kali and Aiden walked right into the place (seriously, the security was terrible) and Kali ripped the alarm box off the wall. "Where is he?"

Kitty Pryde
"Where's who?"

Yes, Kitty, irritate the woman you'd just talked about in regard to head-ripping.

Kali
Kali did not look amused. Not even a little bit. "Who do you think you're talking to?"

Lydia Martin
"Someone in desperate need of a pedicure?" It was a free-for-all of snark, apparently.

Kali
Kali's eyes flickered red for a moment, taking a few steps to approach Lydia and Kitty before a growl behind her stopped her in her tracks.

"Oh really?" Kali said, sounding amused as she turned towards Aiden. "Did someone take their little assignment too seriously?"

Aiden
"She's not the problem," Aiden said.

Kali
Kali flicked her (hand) claws out. "Maybe the problem is where your loyalties lie."

Lydia Martin
Lydia backed up until she hit the table behind her. "Oh god is this about to get really violent?"

Kitty Pryde
Now was probably a bad time to remember the thing about this place feeling like a graveyard.

"Seems like," Kitty said, staying close to Lydia until she saw what the werewolves were going to do.

Jennifer Blake
Kitty was not wrong about that, though she might have gotten the details off. There was a crashing noise from up above where Jennifer broke through the skylights, landing into the loft on her feet.

Derek...might not be getting his security deposit back.

"So," Jennifer said with all the confidence of someone who sacrificed about a dozen people and absorbed their power. "Who wants to go first?"

Kitty Pryde
Drama queen.

"Of course," Kitty muttered, though maybe this was a good thing. If Jennifer was here, she wasn't sacrificing any parents, right? Bright side?

Kali
It seemed that Kali wanted to go first, apparently. She wolfed out and went after Jennifer, doing her best to claw her former emissary with her feet like she had done years before.

Jennifer Blake
Jennifer dodged all of Kali's blocks with an ease that was unnatural even for someone with supernatural powers. She threw Kali across the room and did the same to Aiden when he tried to come up from behind her.

The smugness oozing from her was probably really obnoxious.

Aiden and Ethan
Aiden met eyes with Ethan and soon the two of them were ripping their shirts off. Don't question it, just let it happen. The two of them started melding together at the arm, on their way to forming the giant alpha that gave Kitty and company so much trouble at the hospital.

Jennifer Blake
Yeah Jennifer was having none of that. She stomped up to the twins and grabbed them by their heads and forcibly pulled them apart. Ethan flew across one side of the room, Aiden to another, and the two of them didn't look like they'd be moving anytime soon.

Jennifer turned back around, giving the girls in the room a smile. "Pretty cool, huh?"

Kitty Pryde
Kitty was beginning to resign herself to the fact that she was walking away from this with bruises.

"Pretty showoffy," she shrugged.

Jennifer Blake
"Someone sounds jealous," Jennifer said, turning her attention towards Kali after noticing she had pulled herself up off the floor. The two of them just stared at each other for a moment silently. You didn't really need words to know there was history there.

"That's right, Kali. Look at my face," Jennifer said. "Do you know what it takes to even be able to look like this? To be able to look normal?"

Kali
"I don't care," Kali said. Her voice was soft, like she was having a hard time trying to convince herself of that.

Jennifer Blake
"It takes power," Jennifer said, acting like Kali hadn't replied. "Power like this--"

Jennifer spread her hands above the shards of glass on the ground, causing them to float through the air. It didn't take a genius to figure out what she wanted to do with them.

Kali
"I-I should have--" Kali stopped when the glass turned so the points were facing directly at her. She steeled herself, refusing to be weak in this moment. She knew enough about revenge to know that begging wouldn't have changed anything.

"I should have ripped your head off!"

Jennifer Blake
Jennifer's face twisted up into a snarl and she let out an angry shout as she threw out her hands, sending the piece of glass straight into Kali's face and chest.

Lydia Martin
Lydia shouted when the glass embedded itself into Kali, moving back towards Kitty. The sound of Kali's dead body hitting the floor made her jump, surprised that someone who had scared the crap out of everybody for months just went down like that.

She really had not signed up for this.

Kitty Pryde
Kitty didn't scream, in part because she closed her eyes just before it happened. Some things she didn't need to see.

When she opened them again, she didn't look over yet. She knew she could phase Lydia out of here, but she looked for the twins to start calculating where she could come back up through the floor to get them, too.

Ethan and Aiden
Luckily for Kitty the twins were moving, albeit slowly. Jennifer was too busy dealing with Kali to notice they were slowly merging together again to form the giant alpha.

By the time Kali was dead they were pushing themselves up, ready to protect Lydia and Kitty. With a loud growl they moved, lumbering over to attack Jennifer.

Jennifer Blake
Now this alpha Jennifer wasted no time on. The twins barely got one swipe of their claws in before Jennifer was ducking down around them, getting one of her arms around their neck. With a quick jerk of her elbow there was a snapping noise and the twins dropped dead onto the floor, their neck broken.

"What was that line Coach Finstock likes to say?" Jennifer said, ignoring Lydia's shocked cries. "The bigger they are..."

Kitty Pryde
Kitty wished she'd closed her eyes for that one.

"But you don't like killing, right?" she asked.

Jennifer Blake
"Don't let the fact that they're high school students fool you. They're killers," Jennifer said. "They had to kill their entire pack just to be allowed into Deucalion's."

Jennifer's eyes flickered over to Lydia. "Now, you're going to do me a favor."

Lydia Martin
Lydia honestly had no idea what she could do to help Jennifer. Then again, last year she wouldn't have guessed she had the capability to help Peter. "What do you want from me?"

Jennifer Blake
Jennifer smiled. "I want you to do what you do best, Lydia. I want you to scream."

Just in case Lydia was lacking motivation, Jennifer did her the favor of shifting over to her natural form. Seriously, Derek, you had sex with that. Gross.

Lydia Martin
That would do it, yeah. Lydia took in a deep breath and a second later she was letting out a piercing scream that could be heard all the way across town if you had supernatural hearing.

Kitty Pryde
Was now ever a bad time to be standing right by Lydia. Her hands over her ears, Kitty stared at her a little, because she hadn't known she could even do that.

Jennifer Blake
Jennifer shifted back to her human form, smile widening as Lydia's scream echoed across the loft. "She's a good banshee, isn't she?"

Lydia Martin
Lydia's scream tapered off and she slumped down to the floor, exhausted. "Why?"

Jennifer Blake
"I need Derek," Jennifer answered. "He would have heard that, and he'll come back. That need to help people is hard to shake."

Kitty Pryde
"Has anyone told you lately that you're a psychopath?" Kitty asked. "I feel like you probably don't hear that enough."

Jennifer Blake
"I'm doing what needs to be done," Jennifer said. "I just need Deucalion dead now and the alpha pack will be gone. And if everybody cooperates, maybe I'll be able to do it without hurting the three parents that are scheduled to die very soon."

Kitty Pryde
"You keep saying you're doing what you have to. You don't have to do any of this," Kitty insisted. "But no, you're a revenge-minded mess who goes around hurting innocent people to get your way and you somehow think that makes you better than the person you want dead."

Jennifer Blake
"You should be very thankful that I don't want you dead." The extra body hanging around really wouldn't help her case with Derek. Speaking of, the loft's elevator could be heard coming up. "Right on time."

Derek Hale
The loft doors sprung open a few moments later. Derek and Cora stepped into the loft, having to take a second to view the wrecked remains of their home. Cora moved first, immediately going to Lydia's side.

Derek followed soon after, stopping a few feet in front of Jennifer. When she opened her mouth to speak he put up a hand, wanting someone else's opinion first. Since Lydia looked to be out of it, that honor went to Kitty. "Are you and Lydia okay?"

Kitty Pryde
"Fine, more or less," Kitty said, glaring at Jennifer. She wasn't sure what the scream and all did to Lydia. "Welcome to a trap."

Seriously, Derek, you couldn't just keep going?

Jennifer Blake
"It's not a trap!" Kitty, you were the worst. "I need you, Derek. Besides, there's no need to run anymore. I took care of Kali for you."

Derek Hale
Derek looked over to where Kali was lying dead on his floor, then at where the twins were. "You did this for me?"

Jennifer Blake
"For us!" Jennifer said, nodding. "For anyone that's ever been their victim."

Kitty Pryde
"Oh my god, seriously?" Kitty said, staring at her for a moment before looking back to Derek. "Keep in mind she almost killed your sister and is keeping a bunch of parents hostage. Adding to her body count doesn't help her case."

Jennifer Blake
"Oh yes, what about those parents?" Jennifer said with a nod that could not mean good things. "You could save them, Derek. Scott's mother, Stiles' father. I need a guardian. That role can be filled by the three parents I was forced to take, or by you."

Derek Hale
Derek looked confused. "I can't help you, I'm not even an alpha anymore"

Jennifer Blake
Jennifer didn't looked surprised by that confession. "All I need is for you to help me get Deucalion at the right place at the right time."

Kitty Pryde
Kitty did look surprised by that, but she wasn't letting that stop her. "Derek, you don't have to do this."

Especially since she was hoping those parents had been rescued by now. Though she was wondering what happened if Jennifer didn't get those sacrifices.

Derek Hale
Derek really didn't want to do this, but something told him Jennifer would make good on her threat to kill the parents somehow, even if she was standing here in front of them now. "You just killed three of them on your own, what do you need me for?"

Jennifer Blake
"You haven't seen him at his strongest. I have. And if he's got Scott with him I don't stand a chance," Jennifer explained. "Not unless I have you."

Cora Hale
"Derek, don't trust her," Cora called out from where she was sitting with Lydia.

Jennifer Blake
"I have the eclipse in my favor, but I only have 15 minutes where it's full. That's the extent of my window," Jennifer said, getting visibly frustrated. "There's no decision to struggle with, help me kill him and the others live. Just help me!"

Kitty Pryde
"Don't," Kitty said again, though she had a feeling she knew how this was going to go.

Derek Hale
Well, it was Derek. He couldn't just not go with the bad idea.

"Fine, I'll go with you. But if you hurt Melissa or any of them, I swear to god I'll kill you," Derek said. He nodded over at Kitty. "And she's coming with us."

He had already seen what Kitty could do at the hospital, he figured if things got too rough she could manage to escape. Until then, she could stand as proof that Derek wasn't a complete idiot and going alone with Jennifer.

Kitty Pryde
Points for Derek!

Kitty was totally fine with this, though she did look to Cora and Lydia to make sure they were okay with it. Since they'd be leaving two teenage girls, one who'd almost died earlier and one who wasn't looking that great, alone with a few dead bodies.

Notice how she didn't ask Jennifer what she thought.

Lydia Martin
"We'll be fine," Lydia assured Kitty. Her voice still sounded weak from the scream. "Just be careful."

Kitty Pryde
"I will," she promised. "All right. Let's go have a showdown."
