Beacon Hills Memorial Hospital | Night

For once a plan actually worked because there was nobody stopping them from getting to the basement garage. There was an ambulance waiting, just like Mrs. McCall said, though the engine wasn't running. Maybe the EMT had gone inside.

"Lay her down on the gurney," Stiles said, as he opened the doors to the back of the ambulance and getting inside.

Derek Hale
Derek gave Stiles a look because, duh, he knew he had to put her on the gurney. It was a two person job but he managed to get his sister lying down without a whole lot of trouble. Cora hadn't been conscious in a while, which made Derek worry. She was definitely getting worse.

Kitty Pryde
While they tended to Cora, Kitty went around to the front of the ambulance to make sure the driver was there and knew they were ready to go.

And well, the driver was there. Laying pretty obviously dead on the ground next to the door with no pulse, but he was there.

"Uh, guys," she said, coming back around to their side of the ambulance. "Someone killed our driver."

Jennifer Blake
Jennifer stepped beside Kitty, and Derek wasn't far behind her. "Where are his keys?"

Kali
The answer to that question came soon after. The sounds of keys clanking together could be heard and soon a woman appeared. She was barefoot and could be considered beautiful if it weren't for the long clawed toenails and the glowing red eyes.

"Juliaaaaaaa," Kali sang. She smirked when she caught a good look at Jennifer's face. "It is you."

Stiles Stilinski
Stiles very, very gently closed the doors to the ambulance when he heard Kali's voice, not wanting to get caught. He figured everybody else could handle themselves.

Kitty Pryde
There were a lot of thoughts running through Kitty's head at the moment, like "Where can we go now?" and "Of course Jennifer's not her name" and "How does this woman wear shoes?" Some of those thoughts were obviously more important than others.

"Great. More friends," she muttered.

Jennifer Blake
"You can't beat her on your own." Jennifer was talking solely to Derek here. She didn't really think much of Kitty. At all.

Derek Hale
"That's why we're going to run," Derek said. "Now."

Kitty Pryde
Kitty didn't need any further prompting, and took off back the way they came. And when she noticed Stiles wasn't to be seen, she just hoped he'd be okay with Cora and that there weren't any more surprise werewolves around.

Kali
Kali took off after them, either not noticing or not caring that Stiles and Cora were in the ambulance. Jennifer was the one she wanted, after all.

Jennifer Blake
Once inside, Jennifer looked for a way to lose Kali quickly since they wouldn't be able to outrun her for long. "The elevator!"

Kitty Pryde
There was a part of Kitty that thought that an elevator when you were outrunning someone was probably not the best idea, but really, were they going to take the stairs when dealing with someone with talons on their feet?

Kitty made it in first, holding the doors open for Derek and Whatshername while punching a button up at the same time.

Derek Hale
Jennifer got into the elevator first, but Derek ran in shortly after. By some stroke of luck the doors closed before Kali could get her nasty feet on the elevator.

Don't get too happy about that though. About five seconds after the doors closed the power went out.

"Oh great."

Kitty Pryde
"It's okay, I can get us out," Kitty said, holding out her hands for each of them. "Take my hand, and whatever you do, don't let go until I tell you to, or it'll be messy."

Derek Hale
Derek wasn't really here for trusting brunettes at the moment but he really didn't feel like being trapped in an elevator. So he hesitantly took Kitty's hand.

Please don't kill any of his family members because he was putting trust in you right now, Kitty.

Jennifer Blake
Jennifer also took Kitty's hand, but she looked way less conflicted about it. Probably because she had no intention of getting out of this elevator until she was good and ready.

Kitty Pryde
Kitty made sure she had a good grip on both of them, and phased.

Well, she phased herself and Derek. When she realized her phased hand could pass right through Jennifer's solid one, she looked over at her and frowned. "...What are you made of and why is this not working on you?"

Jennifer Blake
Jennifer shrugged. "Maybe you're doing it wrong."

Kitty Pryde
Kitty hated you, Jennifer. Haaaaaaated.

"It's my natural state. I can't do it wrong," Kitty said, and dropped Derek's hand. "I can get the two of us out just fine, but unless we want to leave her..."

Which, no.

Derek Hale
"We're not leaving her," Derek said, moving to pull open the doors. They were caught between floors, but at least it'd let some air in. "I'll text Scott."

Surely he would come for them. You know, eventually.

Kitty Pryde
Kitty was beginning to realize that she was escaping into elevators with Derek a lot lately. Of course, the last time she did that, they'd gotten out of trouble. This time, they were stuck.

And this Derek didn't know her. And they were stuck with his hopefully ex-girlfriend who was basically using extortion to get them to save her from an alpha pack. So yeah, it was a totally comfortable situation here. Now Stiles owed her.

"Don't suppose there's any word from Scott?" Kitty asked when she'd finally figured out something to say.

Derek Hale
"He needs to find out how to turn the power on." Derek was facing the elevator doors, seemingly determined to not look at Kitty or Jennifer. "He's working on it."

Until then, he'd rather just sit there in silence.

Jennifer Blake
"Why don't you leave and find us help?" Jennifer suggested to Kitty.

Kitty Pryde
"Because it's an evacuated hospital where the only help is the guy who's already working on getting us out of here," Kitty replied, because she'd thought about it already. "Also, because that's what you want and therefore you're not getting it."

Jennifer Blake
"I was hoping to speak with Derek alone," Jennifer said, not denying that. "I need to make him understand what I'm trying to do."

Derek Hale
"I don't care." Good for you, Derek.

Kitty Pryde
Kitty just gave Jennifer a "See?" look, and leaned against the wall of the elevator because check it out, she wasn't going anywhere.

Jennifer Blake
Jennifer sighed. She really hated you, Kitty.

"I just don't want you to think I was using you, Derek. That everything that's happened between us is a lie. That I'm evil, a bitch," Jennifer said. "I bet you're wondering if that slashed up atrocity revealed by the mistletoe was my real face."

Derek Hale
"Still don't care." Look at him not caring! Oh wait, you can't, because he still wasn't turning around.

Jennifer Blake
"But I bet you're curious," she said. "I bet you wonder exactly what happened."

Derek Hale
"You were an emissary," Derek answered. "They tried killing you along with the rest of the pack, mystery solved."

Then, for Kitty's benefit, added, "An emissary is an adviser for werewolves."

Kitty Pryde
"Thank you," Kitty said appreciatively. If she was going to have to apparently hear the story, it helped to have some necessary information.

Jennifer Blake
"I was Kali's emissary. And I was the one she couldn't kill. She left me for dead on the edges of Beacon Hills. By sheer luck it was by the remains of what was a very special tree--a nemeton," Jennifer said. "For years the nemeton's power was virtually gone. The dying ember of a burned out fire. But a few months earlier something happened, that caused it to glow a little brighter, something that gave it a spark of power again. The sacrifice of a virgin."

Derek Hale
Derek didn't say anything, but it was obvious from the tensing of his shoulders that he knew exactly what Jennifer was talking about, and it definitely wasn't a good thing.

Kitty Pryde
Kitty had no idea what they were talking about, but she did notice the tensing.

"Goody for you?"

Not so much for the poor sacrifice.

Jennifer Blake
Kitty, if she could glare at you to death...

"Derek didn't realize what he was doing at the time, but killing a girl named Paige in the root cellar, sacrificing here there, gave power to the nemeton." Were you picking up what she was putting down, Kitty?

If she wasn't, Jennifer decided to help out by moving a little closer to Derek, just to drive the point home when she continued to speak. "You gave it power again, Derek, you gave me power. Just enough to hold onto life a little longer. Long enough to be found."

Derek Hale
Derek squeezed his eyes shut momentarily, feeling guilt seep in. He turned slowly towards Jennifer, trying to keep his face blank. She was trying to get a reaction out of him, he knew that, but he refused to give her anything.

Kitty Pryde
After the whole tape thing, Kitty wasn't going to assume anything if she didn't know the story. "I think that's been enough attempts at emotional manipulation for one elevator non-ride."

Jennifer Blake
"He needs to know," Jennifer said. "He needs to know why I'm doing this. I don't enjoy killing people; I'm only doing what I have to."

Jennifer turned her full attention on Kitty. "Do you know why I use mistletoe? It's not just poisonous, it's not just important to Druids. It's a symbol."

Kitty Pryde
"Is it going to help us at all?" Kitty asked. "Say, in unpoisoning anyone? Because if not, I don't really care."

Jennifer Blake
"Haven't you ever heard of know thy enemy?" You were going to have to deal with her monologuing, Kitty. She was a villain, it's what she did. "Mistletoe has its place in Norse mythology. When Baldur the son of Odin was born he was well beloved by the other gods. His mother Frigg took an oath from every living thing that they would never hurt Baldur."

There was a point to this, maybe.

"But Loki wasn't as enamored with Baldur as much as the other gods were. Loki discovered that Frigg had forgotten to ask an oath of mistletoe, a tiny, seemingly harmless plant and completely overlooked," she said. "Loki fashioned a dart out of mistletoe and it killed Baldur. Frigg was heartbroken. The reason we hang mistletoe underneath our door on the holidays is so we will never overlook it again."

Kitty Pryde
Kitty listened. Kitty wasn't impressed, but she listened. Also, mistletoe was ruined for her so thanks for that.

"Hmm. I know some people who'd probably dispute that story," she said mildly. What up, Asgardians. "So, what, you were left to die- which I'm sorry for, but I'd be a lot sorrier if you weren't so awful- and they didn't finish the job, so you decided to make a point about being overlooked when you do things like go around poisoning teenagers and killing people. Which you for some reason have to do."

Little Miss Doesn't Like To Kill was honestly curious about that reasoning, even if she wouldn't say it.

Jennifer Blake
"Ignoring emissaries was a mistake Deucalion and the alphas should have never made. When the nemeton saved me, I made an oath," Jennifer said. "From virgins and warriors, from healers, philosophers, and guardians, I wanted them to loan me their power so that I could teach these monsters that their monstrous actions would never be overlooked."

Derek Hale
"You killed innocent people," Derek snapped.

Jennifer Blake
"So have you. I know the real color of your eyes, Derek, and I know what it means," she said. "I'm not asking you to save just my life. I'm asking you to save everyone they'll ever hurt again."

Kitty Pryde
...Eye color, what.

"You do realize you just monologued at us about how you chose to start killing innocent people to get revenge and how you use a weapon inspired by a trickster god, and you think we're going to help you."

Derek Hale
"You can't beat them anyway." Says he who wanted revenge against the alpha pack himself.

Jennifer Blake
"Are you sure about that? Boyd asked you before he died what happens to a werewolf during the lunar eclipse. You didn't get the chance to tell him, but you know, don't you?" Jennifer asked, lifting an eyebrow. "What happens, Derek? During the total lunar eclipse?"

Derek Hale
"We lose all of our power," Derek answered quietly.

Kitty Pryde
Kitty could maybe see where this was going and decided that if Derek started agreeing with this woman, she was going to kick him. She didn't care if he didn't know her. Kicking.

"And it only took us half an hour of babbling to get to this point," Kitty sighed.

Derek Hale
Luckily Derek was going to avoid kicking, thanks to the buzzing of his phone. "Scott and the Argents have a plan."

There was another buzzing. Derek looked up at Jennifer and Kitty. "You two are gonna have to switch clothes."

Kitty Pryde
This was Kitty's life now. It was escaping in elevators and switching clothes with villains. Aaaaand she was never telling Clint that Derek was in the elevator for this.

Frowning, she shrugged off her jacket and warned Jennifer, "If you get anything on it, I get to punch you."

She was not at all attached to this jacket. Kitty just wanted to punch her.

Jennifer Blake
"There's not exactly a lot for me to spill on it in this elevator," Jennifer said as she took off her heels. "But I'll be careful, just because you asked nicely."

Kitty, you were never getting your clothes back, just for the record.

Derek Hale
Derek was at least nice enough to turn back towards the elevator doors. "Are you okay with being bait? You don't have to be involved in all this."

Kitty Pryde
"I'm fine with it," Kitty said, as if it was a totally normal thing to do. And as she bent to pull her boots off, she realized that she was going to have to trade in her sensible shoes for heels. Jennifer, you were terrible. "I came here to help you guys out, I can do bait."

Derek Hale
"You just need to make it out of the hospital," Derek told her. "Allison and Chris will be waiting outside. They'll protect you."

Kitty Pryde
Kitty grinned at that, because when you didn't know how little she needed protection, it was sort of cute. "Got it. Keep an eye on this one, okay?"

Jennifer Blake
"I'm not going anywhere," Jennifer said, shoving her clothes at Kitty. "I'd rather stay here and not get torn apart by alphas."

Kitty Pryde
Kitty took the clothes, handed her own over, and otherwise ignored her.

"Like I said, keep an eye on her, and don't let her monologue at you too much."

Derek Hale
Derek made a noise that might have quite possibly qualified as a laugh. "I'm good at tuning stuff out."

No he wasn't, but he'd put some effort into it.

Kitty Pryde
"Good Derek," Kitty said, pulling on Jennifer's clothes as quickly as possible. "All right. Off to be bait."

Jennifer Blake
"Run fast," Jennifer suggested. Of course she had to get a last word in. "Oh, and be careful."

Did she really mean that? No, of course not.

Kitty Pryde
"Oh, shut up," Kitty told her, and phased through the elevator door into the... onto an actual floor and then into the hospital.

Ethan and Aiden
The hospital hallways were empty at first, but since we were dealing with werewolves here it wasn't long before somebody caught the scent of English teacher clothes.

Oh look the twins were back. Still shirtless.

Kitty Pryde
Kitty spotted them, keeping her head down a little so her face wasn't too visible, and then took off running.

Not too fast, though. She wasn't trying to outrun them yet as much as lead them on, after all.

Ethan and Aiden
Since Kitty was covered in Jennifer's scent, the twins couldn't tell anything was up at the moment. They took off after Kitty in all their muscley glory.

Kitty Pryde
The instinct to look back to see where they were had been trained out of her a long time ago, which was a good thing because she was badly missing her shoes and didn't want to break an ankle while running in heels. So instead she kept going, focusing on not tripping like an idiot and headed straight for the doors outside.

Kali
Outside of the hospital looked empty, but at least the rain mellowed out some. As if the twins weren't bad enough, as soon as Kitty stepped outdoors the sound of glass breaking could be heard overhead.

Apparently alphas could jump out of a three story window and land on their bare feet.

Kitty Pryde
Well, at least she wasn't out by the ambulance anymore!

Kitty wasn't freaked out yet, but she did start phasing as she ran, just in case. All she had to do was make it out of the hospital, right?

Allison Argent
That would be correct, seeing as Kitty had two badass hunters were waiting outside to help her out.

Allison stepped out of the shadows first, flashbang arrows at the ready. She wasn't aware Kitty could phase so she would be doing her best to avoid hitting anybody who didn't have fangs.

Kitty Pryde
While there was definitely no way she wouldn't be phasing when someone was firing arrows near her, Kitty tried her best to stay out of their way while still trying to lead the werewolves in a direction to be hit.

And maybe silently cheering on the archers because she really didn't like the alphas so far.

Chris Argent
Even though the alphas were more than capable of catching the arrows Allison was dishing out, the flashbangs were enough of a distraction for Chris to come out of his hiding spot and start shooting.

The alphas
Deucalion probably wasn't going to be happy that they fell into an obvious trap. Kali managed to catch a few arrows, but the flashbangs made both her and the twins disoriented. Aiden and Ethan fled off to the side, and with them gone she wasn't really a match for well trained hunters.

With a growl Kali ran off, going back into the hospital to see if Jennifer was hiding in there.

Kitty Pryde
Once Kitty realized she wasn't being followed anymore, she came to a stop by Chris and Allison. "Thank you for that."

Allison Argent
"Thank you. Without you it would have been me doing double duty for bait and catch," Allison said with a small smile.

A buzzing noise had her pulling out her phone and judging from the frown on her face, the news wasn't great. "Isaac's got Peter and Cora out, but Stiles ran off after Scott."

Kitty Pryde
Kitty frowned, too, asking, "Do we know where Scott went?"

Allison Argent
Allison shook her head. "He might have went after his mom. Or maybe he went to get Derek and Jennifer out of the elevator; the power's back on now."

Kitty Pryde
And suddenly Kitty was regretting not having one eye on Jennifer at all times. "Is there somewhere we can all regroup?"

Allison Argent
Well it seemed like the group was coming to them, considering a shiny new Toyota pulled up to a screeching halt a few moments later. It took a couple of seconds but the driver opened the door and stepped out, revealing a lanky teenager with impeccable fashion sense.

"It's just Isaac," Allison assured Kitty. "Where are the others?"

Isaac Lahey
"I don't know," Isaac answered. "Scott and Stiles went back for Derek and Jennifer, I had to get Cora out."

Kitty Pryde
"How's she doing?" Kitty asked. Because when you had to take someone from a hospital, it was a little worrying. Even if Kitty hadn't known she existed before today.

Isaac Lahey
"Still unconscious," Isaac said. Then he gave Allison a 'who is this?' look. Because he was the last horse to cross the finish line when it came to meeting the new person.
