After calling Kitty, Stiles had Scott drive them to Derek's loft. Stiles was way too freaked out to drive the jeep himself at the moment. He was worried sick about his father and he wasn't sure how he was going to get Derek to believe that his girlfriend was a mass-murdering psychopath.

But they had to get him to believe it. There was no way they could get Jennifer without him.

Stiles had been hanging out with Scott, catching up on some bro time that didn't involve murder when Lydia called. She had gone through another trance and ended up at the high school, which generally meant something terrible happened there. So much for bro time

Under normal circumstances Stiles would have allowed more time between Boyd's death and bothering Derek about anything, but the alpha pack situation was something that couldn't wait. The loft seemed like the natural place to find him but the only person he found there was Cora.

And an impressive clean up job considering it had been flooded less than forty-eight hours ago.

For once, Stiles was glad Beacon Hills had given him an excuse to flee the island. Seriously, fleeing could not happen fast enough. The darach had struck again and this time it was after healers. And, for some reason, Danny. Which was going a bit too far, in Stiles' opinion. Danny was a sweet gay angel who should never be harmed.

To make things worse, the only reason Scott had asked for Stiles to come home was because Deaton had been taken too. For all his mystery werewolf guru act, he was technically a healer when it came right down to it.

A five hour bus ride to a track meet was not something Stiles particularly enjoyed doing. Mostly because he hated track, but also because Jared the puker was the last person you wanted to be in a moving vehicle with. Also Scott was acting weird. Both shifty eyed and in pain.

Clearly Stiles had missed something here.

It may have been Sunday in Fandom but in Beacon Hills it was the middle of the school week and for some reason Stiles had cross country practice. Coach hadn't been looking at him when he said he didn't want the lacrosse team to become a bunch of fat asses during the off season but he could feel the scrutiny.

So he was back in everybody's favorite locker room, hearing Scott talk about this guy who vanished outside the vet's office last night and left his little dog behind. Typical Beacon Hills.

Stiles was halfway to the public pool to meet up with Lydia when his phone started ringing. He had never been so relieved to see Scott's name before. "Scott, man, you okay?"

"We're alive," Scott said. "That's the good news. Kind of pales in comparison to the bad news."

"Oh god, what?"

With Heather missing, Stiles was in full on detective mode trying to figure out what happened to her. The only thing Stiles could think of was the alpha pack. It sort of made sense since teenagers were the best candidates for turning. Why they would need a beta wasn't really clear to him but it was the only lead he had.

The only clue they had to find the alpha pack was somewhere in Isaac's head. He had found them, he saw something big and the alphas took away his memories of the situation. Peter had managed to find out bits and pieces by getting into Isaac's head a little but more effort was needed to get everything.

More effort apparently involved a bathtub filled with ice water.

Stiles had not stayed last night during the full moon shenanigans. He felt like it'd be too awkward considering last week. So he put up a circle of mountain ash, made sure everybody was going to be fine and then went back to the dorms because apparently he felt bad enough for Ms. Blake that he actually completed an essay on Heart of Darkness for her. What a whipped not-student he was.

But he was back bright and early Monday 'cause he got the feeling Jackson would like to escape as soon as possible. He broke the circle of mountain ash and then let himself inside.

"Circle's broken, you can leave now!" Stiles shouted, picking up Puppy Joe and then heading into the kitchen to make himself coffee. You people owed him coffee.

Another school year at Beacon Hills High School, another year of Stiles trying to pretend he was still a student. Finstock had accepted Stiles' presence easily, but Finstock was...well he was Finstock. Other teachers had more sense than that.

"Dude, I looked up deer collisions last year; there were 247,000 but that was from ones crossing the road," Stiles told Scott as they walked down the hallway. "This one last night was charging right up the middle."

"I think I'm going to ask Derek about my tattoo," Scott said, clearly not hearing anything Stiles was saying. "He's got the triskele tattoo on his back so there has to be a way to do it without healing, right?"

Stiles stopped and pointed at one of the missing person flyers for Boyd and Erica. "Don't you think Derek has his hands full?"
