The good part about Thanksgiving break was that it meant that Stiles didn't have to spend anymore time dealing with DC traffic and living in that apartment by himself. The bad part was that he had the sneaking suspicion that Derek was going to make him help with Thanksgiving stuff. Ugh.

He was actually attempting to hide from all that. He was sitting in the tub in the guest bathroom playing on his phone like Derek wouldn't somehow be able to literally sniff him out.

"If she was planning to kill you, she would have done it already," Derek replied with a put out sigh.

“She’s still scary,” Stiles pointed out. “Extremely scary.”

"I'll protect you from my little sister," Derek promised, herding him toward the kitchen.

Stiles sighed. “You like it when she messes with me.”

[justlurkinghere]

"It's nice to see you getting along." Getting along. Yes.

“You suck,” Stiles said, heading towards the fridge to get out something unhealthy.

"Sometimes," Derek replied with a grin. This was your influence, Stiles.

"Remember when you didn't have a sense of humor?" he teased.

"I had it. I just wasn't used." Because of all that manpain.

[robinonadderall]

"I'm glad to have the honor of bringing it out of you." Stiles took out a pint of ice cream from the freezer. Oh yeah, bad breakfast time.

"I could make you breakfast, you know," Derek said with a deeply put-upon sigh. "Do you eat like this at your internship?"

"No," he said. "I have to run a lot. I'd throw up all over myself if I ate like this there."

"So this is just special occasion eating then," Derek said, pouring him a cup of coffee to go with that breakfast of champions.

[robinonadderall]

"Well also because I want you to save up your cooking mojo for Thursday."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek snorted at that, pushing the coffee at him. "If you don't hide all day, I'll make those brownies you like."

They were never above bribery in this relationship.

"That's cheating," he said, taking the coffee. "You know it is."

"Is it?" It really was, but Derek was ruthless and cruel.

Stiles rolled his eyes but looked amused. "So did you pick out a table setting out of the Martha Stewart magazine?"

"No." It was Food and Wine. "We could just get Chinese if you'd prefer."

[robinonadderall]

"Chinese is for Christmas," Stiles said. "We've got to do the traditional Thanksgiving thing. It'll prove we're grown up enough to plan a wedding."

"Is that what this year is about?" Derek asked, trying not to laugh.

[robinonadderall]

"Yup," he joked. "And you've got to prove it most of all since you're doing most of the planning."

"And you have to prove your part by... eating ice cream?"

[robinonadderall]

"They won't see me eat ice cream," he said. "Only you see that."

[justlurkinghere]

"See and regret my proposal," Derek replied dryly. Even as he also eyed that ice cream like he wanted some.
