The good part about Thanksgiving break was that it meant that Stiles didn't have to spend anymore time dealing with DC traffic and living in that apartment by himself. The bad part was that he had the sneaking suspicion that Derek was going to make him help with Thanksgiving stuff. Ugh.

He was actually attempting to hide from all that. He was sitting in the tub in the guest bathroom playing on his phone like Derek wouldn't somehow be able to literally sniff him out.

Stiles smiled. "Agree to disagree."

"You're also very pretty." Which Derek believed even if Stiles did not.

"Well I think you're very pretty too," he said, giving Derek a kiss on the cheek.

Derek snorted, tilting his head because he did enjoy that kiss on the cheek. Sappy romantic that he was. "And there's the part the balances out the cold feet."

"I try," he said. "By the way, I don't buy your reasoning behind me being the bride."

"If you say it's me because I cook and am planning the wedding, I'm telling every girl you know."

"...I wasn't gonna suggest that." Liesss.

"Oh?" You couldn't lie to him, Stiles! He was a werewolf!

[robinonadderall]

"I was gonna suggest something else." Uh huh. "Which I will keep to myself."

Because it didn't exist.

"You're going to make such a great cop," Derek replied, trying not to smile at him. Mostly failing.

"Oh you don't count," Stiles said with a wave of his hand. "You can tell when I lie."

"So I should be good practice for you."

"I don't think that's how it works," he said. "Good try, though."

Derek shrugged, giving Stiles shirt a little tug before going back to what he was doing before.

"I'm just being supportive of my fiance."

"I appreciate your support," he said, sitting up on one of the counters. "What are you chopping?"

"Sweet potatoes. Cora used to eat them all." And he was hoping that held true now too.

"Are you going to cover them in brown sugar and marshmallows?" 'Cause that's the best way to have them.

[justlurkinghere]

"Yes, of course. Don't even think about breaking into the marshmallows, though."

Even if they were tiny and adorable.

[robinonadderall]

"You're not even gonna use all of them!"

[justlurkinghere]

"I won't know for sure until after 8ve finished it!"

Also, you don't need more sugar, Stiles.

Stiles pouted like he was seven. "But they're good."

[justlurkinghere]

"If you help me get this ready, you can have the leftovers." And Derek would not deal with your post-sugar high coma.

Stiles sighed. "I guess I can do that. For the marshmallows."

Not to be useful or anything.

"And because you love me."

Eh, debatable.

"I guess that too," he joked.
