Since Stiles' birthday was on a Wednesday this year he had a stupid thing called school and an exam getting in the way of actually celebrating on the 8th. He apparently couldn't not celebrate it (per Derek) so he came down to the island to birthday it up early. And then next weekend he'd go to Beacon Hills to birthday it up late. It was difficult being him.

He had a few vague (and not so vague) plans in mind to celebrate but right now he was content with laying on the couch. They had all weekend after all.

He smiled. "Now what are you doing?"

Snuggling.

"Getting comfortable."

Duh.

"Well what if I wanted to get up?" He did not.

[justlurkinghere]

"Do you?" Got you there!

[robinonadderall]

"I'm being hypothetical right now."

[justlurkinghere]

"Hypothetically. I'd let you go do what you wanted to do." And take the couch all for himself.

"Lame," he said. "Not even going to fight to keep me here, I see how it is."

"This is a hypothetical. You want me to hypothetically fight for you?"

[robinonadderall]

"Isn't a hypothetical situation one where you're going to do what you would do in the real situation?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"...sure. Hypothetically."

He needed to stop saying that word.

Stiles rolled his eyes. Then he tried to make the hypothetical situation not so hypothetical by trying to wriggle out from under Derek.

Rude! "Where are you going?"

[robinonadderall]

He shrugged innocently. "Here and there."

Derek rolled his eyes, holding on still. Because he was a possessive little jerk.

"Guess your hypothetical was wrong," he said, smirking.

[justlurkinghere]

"How strange."

[robinonadderall]

Stiles smiled again and relaxed against Derek. "So, have any birthday plans?"

"I suppose we could go out for dinner?"

[robinonadderall]

"I suppose I can get behind that," he said with a nod. "But no singing."

[justlurkinghere]

"But I love singing in public," Derek replied.

[robinonadderall]

"I meant the waiters," Stiles said. "I feel bad for them. You know they hate it."

[justlurkinghere]

"I'd give them enough of a tip to make up for it."

Of course he would.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles huffed. "I'll make you sing with them if you make them do it."

[justlurkinghere]

"...you wouldn't."

[robinonadderall]

"I so would," he said. "So be nice."
