Since Stiles' birthday was on a Wednesday this year he had a stupid thing called school and an exam getting in the way of actually celebrating on the 8th. He apparently couldn't not celebrate it (per Derek) so he came down to the island to birthday it up early. And then next weekend he'd go to Beacon Hills to birthday it up late. It was difficult being him.

He had a few vague (and not so vague) plans in mind to celebrate but right now he was content with laying on the couch. They had all weekend after all.

"I suppose we could go out for dinner?"

"I suppose I can get behind that," he said with a nod. "But no singing."

"But I love singing in public," Derek replied.

[robinonadderall]

"I meant the waiters," Stiles said. "I feel bad for them. You know they hate it."

[justlurkinghere]

"I'd give them enough of a tip to make up for it."

Of course he would.

Stiles huffed. "I'll make you sing with them if you make them do it."

"...you wouldn't."

[robinonadderall]

"I so would," he said. "So be nice."

"See if I make you a cake." HE WOULD MAKE ALL THE CAKES, LET'S BE HONEST.

"See if I give you your surprise." Yes. A surprise for Derek on his birthday.

[justlurkinghere]

"A surprise?" Do go on.

[robinonadderall]

"Yup," Stiles said. "A surprise. One you'll like. Or two you'll like."

Derek grinned, pushing hims down for a kiss. "Two?"

Stiles smiled into the kiss, sliding his arms over Derek's shoulders. "Yeah. And if you think I'm telling you about them now you're crazy."

Such a jerk.

"Not even a hint?"

[robinonadderall]

"They're both things we've discussed before."

[justlurkinghere]

That got a little chuckle out of Derek at least. "Not narrowing this down in the slightest."

[robinonadderall]

"Guess you'll just have to wait then," he teased.

[justlurkinghere]

"How long?" Derek asked, tilting his head to kiss Stiles throat.

[robinonadderall]

"Well you wanted to go to dinner." So it was your own fault you had to wait, Derek.

"Denny's is open late." So classy, this birthday dinner.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles laughed. "I don't want to hear you calling me impatient ever again."

[justlurkinghere]

"I'm not impatient." He was super impatient.

[robinonadderall]

"What do you call this right now?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"Being proactive," Derek replied.
