Opposite of Creepy Mansion | Tuesday Night

Some nightmares last night had led to Stiles sleeping during the day to make up for lost time which in turn led to him knowing he wasn't gonna sleep tonight. So he was downstairs sprawled out on the couch with some popcorn, scrolling through Netflix to load up some 80's action movies into the queue.

They'd all meld together by 3 a.m. but that was okay with him.

Derek rolled his eyes in an aggressive fashion. Because that was way preferable to looking vulnerable. "You are an idiot."

"Sometimes," he admitted. "But so are you."

That got another eye roll. "Can I sit down now?"

[robinonadderall]

"You never asked to sit down in the first place." Just heavily indicated it with your eyebrows.

Derek huffed again. "I didn't realize I had to."

[robinonadderall]

"You don't have to," he said. "But you just asked me if you could sit down."

[justlurkinghere]

"I don't know what you want me to do," Derek replied. "You still haven't answered."

He sighed. "Yes, you can sit down, Derek."

Derek slunk over to take a seat on the end of the couch. He opened his mouth to say something before thinking better of it and staring at the television without comment on the bad movie choice.

Stiles sighed again, slumping over on the other side of the couch and closing his eyes. "Sorry. I'm not really good company right now."

He was pretty stressed out. Turned out the first chunk of your school bill was due by the second week of school, who knew?

Derek gave him a look that was all sorts of sarcastic eyebrows. "Do you want space?"

Look at him try to be mature! It was adorable like a fawn stumbling around on wobbly legs.

He shrugged. "Doesn't really matter."

Derek's shoulders slumped before he caught himself. "Alright."

"I didn't--" He shook his head at himself. He wasn't saying anything right. "I didn't mean it like that."

"It's fine," Derek said quickly. His focus on the ridiculous explosion of a car that had been shot in the gas tank. "You're stressed. You'll be at college soon."

"I know," he said. "I didn't realize it'd be so much. Of everything."

"You'll enjoy it," Derek replied. "Once you get there. No werewolves or anything."

[robinonadderall]

"I don't have a problem with werewolves."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek shrugged. "Normal things."

People his own age and everything!

[robinonadderall]

"I have never been involved with normal things," he said. "Ever."

[justlurkinghere]

"You could be," Derek replied, inhaling the stale scent of stress. "It's a new start if you want it to be."

"Well I don't want it to be."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek tore his completely rapt attention away from the movie to look at him properly from his side of the couch. His fingers twitched slightly like he wanted to touch Stiles, but was refraining. "Then what do you want?"

"Out of what?" he asked. "College? Life?"

Derek shrugged. Damned if he knew which one.
