Opposite of Creepy Mansion | Tuesday Night

Some nightmares last night had led to Stiles sleeping during the day to make up for lost time which in turn led to him knowing he wasn't gonna sleep tonight. So he was downstairs sprawled out on the couch with some popcorn, scrolling through Netflix to load up some 80's action movies into the queue.

They'd all meld together by 3 a.m. but that was okay with him.

"It's fine," Derek said quickly. His focus on the ridiculous explosion of a car that had been shot in the gas tank. "You're stressed. You'll be at college soon."

"I know," he said. "I didn't realize it'd be so much. Of everything."

"You'll enjoy it," Derek replied. "Once you get there. No werewolves or anything."

[robinonadderall]

"I don't have a problem with werewolves."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek shrugged. "Normal things."

People his own age and everything!

"I have never been involved with normal things," he said. "Ever."

[justlurkinghere]

"You could be," Derek replied, inhaling the stale scent of stress. "It's a new start if you want it to be."

"Well I don't want it to be."

Derek tore his completely rapt attention away from the movie to look at him properly from his side of the couch. His fingers twitched slightly like he wanted to touch Stiles, but was refraining. "Then what do you want?"

"Out of what?" he asked. "College? Life?"

[justlurkinghere]

Derek shrugged. Damned if he knew which one.

"Kind of a big question to ask, don't you think?" he asked, lifting his eyebrows. "I want what everybody else wants, I guess."

"You're good at not answering a question."

[robinonadderall]

He sighed. "I don't know, graduate college, get a job, a house. Marriage, kids, that whole thing."

If you wanted a answer focused on the near future then you should have been more specific, Derek.

Derek did not do the pathetic thing and ask, 'With me?' But it was damn close to happening.

Instead he nodded like that was a good enough answer. It was not.

"What do you want?" he asked in return.

[justlurkinghere]

"I don't know." Liiiiiiies. He wanted to cling to Stiles through all those things like a psychotic limpet.

"You have to have some idea."

[justlurkinghere]

"Mostly just have a family."

Again. Hopefully alive!

Stiles felt vaguely guilty about that since that wasn't something he could really provide Derek with at the moment. "You've got Cora back. That's a start."

"Yeah." Derek carefully moved closer to Stiles, keeping enough space between them that he wouldn't be touching him if Stiles made a face. "You too."

He smiled a little, looking down at the floor. "You want kids of your own though."

[justlurkinghere]

"I--yeah." Hadn't they talked about it after that one weekend? Then again, Stiles was young. He could have changed his mind after wverything that had happened. And now he was actually with Derek, he could have decided that he so did not want that sort of commitment with him. No need to hitch his wagon to that ball of crazy when child support might happen. "Maybe."

"There's no maybe about it," he said. "I want them too. Someday."

"Someday," Derek agreed.
