Basement of the Nameless House | Friday Afternoon

The fact that Stiles realized he'd have to pass a physical endurance test hit him hard when he finished this semester and realized he had one year of school left before entering his career in law enforcement. He'd have to like, run and stuff! And not die! It was going to take a whole year just to be able to run a mile without dying. Especially when it was like 100 degrees in Maryland right now and if he went outside he'd spontaneously combust.

Knowing that there'd be days where it'd be hot like the sun outside, Stiles had used Derek's credit card to buy enough stuff to set up a makeshift gym in the basement. It wasn't much, but there was a treadmill and a punching bag, along with a mat he could pass out on after he exercised. He had napped there many a time since starting to work out.

Today he was working on the punching bag because once again it was hot like the sun outside.

[For the guy and I can not stress enough how Maryland is the sun right now]

"You've been working out how long now?" And Derek was ripped like a hipster, werewolf god.

"A few weeks?" That wasn't fair, Derek had werewolf genes. You couldn't compare the two!

[justlurkinghere]

That was true.

"Well, in that case you're already so far ahead of me. How could I ever catch up?"

[robinonadderall]

"Guess you can't." Stiles stretched his arm over his head like he was stretching out his triceps but he knew very well what he was doing. He had seen a change in the mirror too and he was kind of proud of it.

"Don't feel too bad about it though."

Derek was proud of him as well! Proud and pretty into it going by the intent look he was giving Stiles now.

"I'll survive somehow. Maybe one of these days I'll drag you out of bed before it gets hot to try yoga."

Which would undoubtedly translate to bendy living room sex.

"And how would yoga benefit me?" he asked. "Other than getting to watch you do it, which I can do from the comfort of my bed."

[justlurkinghere]

He made a valid point.

"Isn't flexibility a part of being fit?"

[robinonadderall]

"...you got me there." Damn him. "And you're a qualified to teach me yoga?"

[justlurkinghere]

"I think I am." He was not, but that wouldn't stop him. "And maybe I'll go running with you after the sun sets."

And at least some of the heat dissipates.

"Aw, just like old times," he said. "Only with less sexual tension."

[justlurkinghere]

"And it'll keep you from getting mugged." Because he watched Dateline. He knew the score.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles rolled his eyes. "You can't be serious."

[justlurkinghere]

"It could happen." On Dateline.

[robinonadderall]

"I'm not gonna get mugged while jogging," Stiles said, moving closer to wrap his arms around Derek's waist. "But you're cute when you're all protective."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek grumbled, leaning in to sniff at the collar of Stile's sweaty shirt. Because he was so weird about these things. "Looks like we'll both be eating healthy until you pass your fitness tests."

And after those because he wanted you to survive out there, Stiles.

It was more than a little weird, Derek. Luckily Stiles was used to it by now.

"Am I gonna catch you sneaking bacon at some point?"

[justlurkinghere]

He was a werewolf! You had to expect these things!

"...no?"

[robinonadderall]

Stiles grinned. "You're a bad liar."

[justlurkinghere]

"Maybe it'll be... turkey bacon." Oh god, it was awful to even say.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles gave Derek's grumpy face a quick kiss. "Just don't be too blatant about it and it can be real bacon."

[justlurkinghere]

"I'm throwing out all the ramen then," Derek decided, holding onto Stiles so he couldn't save his one thing he could cook.

[robinonadderall]

"But how am I gonna eat then?"

[justlurkinghere]

"We can get you protein shakes." He was teasing. Mostly.

[robinonadderall]

"I will leave you." Was he joking? Who knows?

[justlurkinghere]

"Well, it can't be avocado toasts because we'll lose the house," Derek replied with the utmost sincerity.
