Basement of the Nameless House | Friday Afternoon

The fact that Stiles realized he'd have to pass a physical endurance test hit him hard when he finished this semester and realized he had one year of school left before entering his career in law enforcement. He'd have to like, run and stuff! And not die! It was going to take a whole year just to be able to run a mile without dying. Especially when it was like 100 degrees in Maryland right now and if he went outside he'd spontaneously combust.

Knowing that there'd be days where it'd be hot like the sun outside, Stiles had used Derek's credit card to buy enough stuff to set up a makeshift gym in the basement. It wasn't much, but there was a treadmill and a punching bag, along with a mat he could pass out on after he exercised. He had napped there many a time since starting to work out.

Today he was working on the punching bag because once again it was hot like the sun outside.

[For the guy and I can not stress enough how Maryland is the sun right now]

"We have a pool, you know."

Water aerobics were for the elderly, Derek.

"An outdoor pool." Which would involve going outside. In the heat.

But there was water!

"We could always move somewhere colder."

[robinonadderall]

"We've got a year left here," Stiles said, focusing on the punching bag again. "But I wouldn't say no to Washington or NorCal."

"Washington wouldn't be bad." For that aesthetic.

All of this was while he was shamelessly watching Stiles work at it.

"All your hipster dreams could come true in Washington." He was not noticing he was being gawked at because he was focusing on not breaking a hand.

Which was probably best. Derek was an awful mother hen when Stiles was sick, nevermind injured.

"It's just nice country out there." And he could have an even shittier garden.

Stiles laughed, though it sounded a little breathless from working out. "Uh huh. And all the organic crunchy granola stuff doesn't appeal to you at all."

"Nope," Derek agreed, moving silently around him to help hold the bag in place.

"I think I'm getting better at this," he said, punching the bag again. He was starting to look a little more muscular as well.

"You are." If Derek sounded appreciative, its because he was.

"Is that a hint of pride I hear?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"I'm being supportive." Sure, that was the correct word for it.

[robinonadderall]

"Oh okay," he joked, landing another punch. "Doesn't benefit you at all."

[justlurkinghere]

"It has improved your stamina," Derek replied with a small grin.

[robinonadderall]

"Hasn't done much for yours," he teased.

[justlurkinghere]

"I still have more than you," Derek replied, eyebrows shooting up.

Stiles huffed, pulling back for a moment to give Derek an unimpressed look. "Yeah, right."

"You've been working out how long now?" And Derek was ripped like a hipster, werewolf god.

[robinonadderall]

"A few weeks?" That wasn't fair, Derek had werewolf genes. You couldn't compare the two!

[justlurkinghere]

That was true.

"Well, in that case you're already so far ahead of me. How could I ever catch up?"

[robinonadderall]

"Guess you can't." Stiles stretched his arm over his head like he was stretching out his triceps but he knew very well what he was doing. He had seen a change in the mirror too and he was kind of proud of it.

"Don't feel too bad about it though."

Derek was proud of him as well! Proud and pretty into it going by the intent look he was giving Stiles now.

"I'll survive somehow. Maybe one of these days I'll drag you out of bed before it gets hot to try yoga."

Which would undoubtedly translate to bendy living room sex.

"And how would yoga benefit me?" he asked. "Other than getting to watch you do it, which I can do from the comfort of my bed."

He made a valid point.

"Isn't flexibility a part of being fit?"
