Semi-Creepy Mansion | Monday Morning

The pizza had been eaten, there might have been a child or two traumatized by Stiles' choice in movies but at least there hadn't been any injuries despite the fact it was a bunch of children inside the creeper mansion. All in all it was a pretty successful sleepover for one that Stiles was half-responsible for.

Sadly now there was a bunch of adults and one teenager to deal with a morning after. Surely this won't be awkward. Or painful. Derek was involved so it might end up being painful.

Kitty was really, really sorry for missing this yesterday. But she was making up for it this morning by coming by with two carrying thingies of coffee, which presented a problem when she went to knock like a polite person.

So she phased her head through the front door and called, "Good moooorning!"

"Kitty!" Oh it was a good thing Stiles couldn't actually see the front door at the moment because he would have flipped out. "Living room!"

See, he was trying to be obnoxious and cheerful because it annoyed Derek and Derek freaking kicked him so he deserved to be annoyed.

Taking that as an invitation, she stepped the rest of the way through the door and found the living room. "I brought coffee. Wow, this place really is creepy."

"It's getting less creepy!" Stiles said. "Oooh coffee, thank you."

"You're welcome. So I hear you were the babysitter." Tiny Derek never should have told her that.

"I was. A fantastic babysitter, at that," Stiles said proudly. "Derek's not very appreciative right now though."

"... Did you just come through the front door?" Mike wondered, simultaneously thinking that better not mean the front door was now busted somehow.

And then he got mercifully distracted. "Is that coffee?"

"It's a thing I do," she said vaguely, holding up one of the carriers. "Figured just in case you didn't have electricity yet, I'd be merciful."

Mike was grateful for the vagueness, he really was. He wasn't sure his morning could handle much more weird.

"We have electricity in a part of the house but still, bless you," he said, reaching for a coffee. "I'm not sure we had actual coffee anywhere, anyway."

"If you didn't get it, I'm betting not." How would Derek have used a coffee maker? Did those run on batteries? "Congratulations on surviving your first bout of Fandom weirdness."

"Thanks, although surviving may sorta be too strong a word." He was mostly joking, though. "I'm still digesting all this new information and stuff."

Awww, expecting actually words from Derek at this point. Not even for the sweet lure of caffeine. He was all glaring, all the time.

Deal with it.

"Coffee?" Kitty offered, holding the carrier out.

Kitty. Kitty. Kitty. His emotional constipation was the stuff of legends. He was now going to glare at the coffee before snatching at it.

"You're welcome," she replied... to nothing.

"Why are you here?" Words! Real words!

Aaand that would be Clint trying to disappear behind a piece of furniture at the sound of Kitty's voice. Such a brave grownup he was.

Good luck with that, especially as Kitty plunked herself down next to him with a coffee. And just smiled.

Ugh, this was going to be unpleasant.

"Kitty, hey, I almost didn't see you there. It's good to see you though. I haven't seen you since, what, Friday?"

If she was a nice girlfriend, she'd just go with him on this one.

"Yep, Friday," she nodded. "And not since. Didn't even get a chance to tell you about meeting the cutest kid the other day."

That probably made her just an okay girlfriend.

"I was not a cute kid," Clint protested weakly. "Okay, maybe I was a little cute, with an emphasis on the little. How come nothing happened to you?"

"You are a wonderful woman," Jack decided, when he spotted the coffee. The phasing was weird, but he'd seen weirder. "Good morning, person I don't think I've ever actually spoken to."

He vaguely recognized Kitty, but there was a whole bar rivalry to maintain.

"Well, now you have," she said, bringing him one of the cups. "Kitty Pryde. Hi."

"Thank you, Kitty Pryde," Jack said, and took a sip from the coffee before he spoke again. "I'm Jack Priest. Out of curiosity, why are you the coffee fairy today?"

"Because I'm too nice. Also, because boyfriend, friend, friend even if he won't admit it, new employee, only talked to him twice but he's destined to be my friend," she said, pointing to Clint, Pinkie, Derek, Mike, and Stiles in turn, "and I had to see this."
