True to his word, Derek wasted no time getting a pool built at their place. It was a shame they only had a few weeks to enjoy it but Stiles intended on spending every minute his pale skin would allow swimming in it.

Today was the first day it was deemed ready to swim in. Stiles thought maybe it deserved a ribbon cutting or something but since big red ribbons were hard to come by, he settled for just putting on his trunks and slathering on an indecent amount of sunscreen on to celebrate.

Which was kind of lame. He wished he had Derek's inability to get sunburn.

"Like a tiny speedo?"

"You want me to wear a tiny speedo?"

"I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to it." Because, really, Derek in minimal clothing was always good. "And I'm pretty sure that's what pool boys wear."

Sure.

"If that's what they wear..." Clearly it wouldn't lead to pool sex during the day either.

"Definitely is," he said, swimming towards Derek. "I think it helps you be more efficient when cleaning the pool."

"Is that so?" Derek asked, leaning forward and spreading his legs a little on his perch on the edge of the pool.

[robinonadderall]

"Yep," he said, moving into the space made for him. Which was totally and completely innocent. "Pretty sure there's science behind it."

Derek had to smile at it, hooking his heels together around Stiles. "Science, huh? Tell me more about the science of it."

"I didn't say that I knew the science behind it," Stiles said. "I personally would just enjoy the view."

[justlurkinghere]

"What, my normal swimsuit isn't good enough for you?" Derek asked, running his hands through Stiles' wet hair to muss it up before smoothing it back down. Because grooming.

[robinonadderall]

"It's okay," he said, tugging lightly at the swimsuit in question. "But a speedo is tighter."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek hummed, keeping up the petting rather than tug on Stiles' hair. Because he was behaving himself. Look at him behave!

"Any color you'd like in particular?"

[robinonadderall]

Such behaving!

"You know I love red." Because he was a walking cliche.

And maybe he was also occasionally running his hands over lingering bite marks on Stiles' neck from previous activities. Just a little.

Barely noticeable.

"I can do red," he replied. "And I assume you'll keep your normal trunks."

That made him look like a walking cliche of a Californian teen.

"Of course," he said. "I wouldn't look good in them."

"I think you would." Of course Derek would think that.

"With my pale, skinny legs?"

[justlurkinghere]

Derek gently tapped his heel against the small of Stiles' back. "I happen to like your pale, skinny legs."

[robinonadderall]

"We've established you have strange taste," he said. "I don't have old neighbors wanting to bone me."

[justlurkinghere]

"They have bad taste," Derek insisted, leaning in for a kiss.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles kissed Derek back, lifting himself up a little to get a better angle for that. This was still completely innocent, by the way.

Completely innocent! Don't be silly. Nothing about this was an untoward day in their pool.

Derek helped him out with that, wrapping his his legs around Stiles' middle. So he didn't fall back in the water. Just for that reason.

"Thank you," he murmured against Derek's mouth. "For the pool."

"It was a good idea," Derek replied, not about to pull away from him. If the neighbor was looking, it didn't seem terrible pure of a position to be in, guys. "And I like seeing you happy."

Yeah this didn't look great.

"I like seeing you happy too," he said. "You like it, right?"
