True to his word, Derek wasted no time getting a pool built at their place. It was a shame they only had a few weeks to enjoy it but Stiles intended on spending every minute his pale skin would allow swimming in it.

Today was the first day it was deemed ready to swim in. Stiles thought maybe it deserved a ribbon cutting or something but since big red ribbons were hard to come by, he settled for just putting on his trunks and slathering on an indecent amount of sunscreen on to celebrate.

Which was kind of lame. He wished he had Derek's inability to get sunburn.

"Someone has to keep an eye on you," Derek replied, kissing Stiles' shoulder. Helpfully.

"Does the lotion smell like really bad for you?" he asked, genuinely curious about how it affected werewolf noses.

"It's... not the worst thing I've smelled." Which was pretty faint praise.

[robinonadderall]

"Sorry," he said, actually feeling bad about that. "Guess it's not much of a turn on, huh?"

A barrier against day sex!

Derek smiled and rubbed what was left on his hands over Stiles' sides. "I'd rather you be safe, honestly."

"True. I'd be whining up a storm if I had sunburn," Stiles said, leaning back against Derek.

"And you'd get weird about me taking the pain," Derek muttered, curling his arms around Stiles to hold onto.

He'd be forced to pull away soon enough now that he wasn't in the water at all.

"I don't like seeing you in pain," he said.

"I don't like seeing you in it either."

[robinonadderall]

Stiles turned his head slightly to kiss Derek's jaw. "Guess we'll both have to stay out of trouble then."

Non-sexy trouble, anyway.

"Think you can manage it?" Derek teased, shifting closer until his chest was flush against Stiles' back.

"I've been doing pretty well," he said. "Haven't been possessed or kidnapped in, what, two years?"

"Keep that up, won't you?" And don't mysteriously disappear from everyone's memories.

"I'll see what I can do," Stiles said. "And you don't get the shit beaten out of you or shot with wolfsbane bullets, okay?"

"I'll try my best," he replied dryly, pushing forward to get Stiles back into the pool.

Stiles slid back in the water at Derek's encouragement, ducking himself under completely. It was no way as cold this time around. Thank god, 'cause he was kind of a wuss about the cold.

Derek wasn't long in joining him, popping back up after being submerged to shake off the water and grin over at Stiles. "Better this time?"

"Much," he said, swimming towards Derek again. "Anybody tell you that you look really good all wet?"

"Yeah?" Derek asked, waiting until he was close enough to pull in toward him. "Once or twice."

[robinonadderall]

"Well it should be said more than that," he said, looping his arms around Derek's neck. Man it was nice to have a fiance who you could trust to hold you up in any situation.

Which only meant Derek was forced to hold onto Stiles' ass to keep him up in the water. Yes. That was it. "So do you. Even if you don't believe me."

"I believe that you believe that."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek snorted in amusement, moving in to kiss him rather than argue the point. "You are so perfect," he muttered between kisses.

Hearing that would never fail to make Stiles turn red. At least this time he could distract from it by kissing Derek back.

Hope the neighbor was enjoying the show!

Which was why Derek would always say it to him. And would continue to kiss him back with more groping than was strictly necessary for the day time.

In his defense... he had no defense for this.
