Stiles shouldn't be surprised that Derek actually bought a place near his school but...he was surprised Derek actually bought a place near his school. Sure, eventually it'd be a good investment since Derek seemed to be taking the whole landlord thing seriously but this was still ridiculous.

Even more ridiculous was the fact that it had already been furnished in Derek's typical minimalist style. Seriously, he could afford to buy a house but furniture was out of the question?

"This is crazy."

Why must you continue to bring logic into this?

Derek sighed maturely. "Fine, I can't be here all the time."

Just most of the time.

"That would be the logical answer," he said. "I could move in here this winter, actually. Save my dad for paying for dorms another semester."

"You can," Derek agreed far too quickly. "Just try not to throw too many parties here when I'm not around."

"Oh yeah that'll happen," he said, rolling his eyes. "Try not peeping on me on nights where I'm by myself."

Let's be real, Derek would either stalk or install a security system in the house.

"You think I'd watch you while you're alone?" Yes. Yes, he would.

Stiles gave Derek a look. "Are you trying to say you wouldn't?"

[justlurkinghere]

"Well. Not without permission."

Which made it okay.

[robinonadderall]

"That doesn't make sense."

[justlurkinghere]

"Does too." In a way. Kinda. "If you wanted to show me something."

Of course it was dirty. Of freaking course.

That reply just made Stiles laugh. "Ah, of course. Now that does make sense."

"Exactly," Derek replied, preening just a bit against Stiles' back.

"So are you going to give me a grand tour of the place?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

That would involve disengaging from this cuddling!

Derek manfully forced himself backwards so that Stiles could walk on his own. "Living room. There's a kitchen that I'll need to update, but it's not terrible."

"Looks fine to me." Then again Stiles had no taste.

And Derek binge watched House Hunters.

"It's dated," he said, making a face. "There are a few bedrooms if you wanted to pick one for your school work."

There were more than a few bedrooms. Because Derek might have tried to budget, but he still bought too large a house.

"Show me which one we're sleeping in first," Stiles said. "And the bathroom."

[justlurkinghere]

"It's a nice master bedroom," Derek promised, grabbing Stiles' hand to drag him ip to it. There was even a walk in closet for Derek's collection of leather jackets. And toys.

He had a problem, yes.

Just a bit of a problem.

"And how many other bedrooms are there?" he asked, following Derek.

"Four." That was a reasonable amount of rooms. "I can rent this place to a group then."

Yeah, that's what he'd been thinking. Not 'Look at this family home!'

"And this was your idea of a small house?" Stiles teased. "How big is the house we're gonna get after we're married going to be?"

[justlurkinghere]

"How many kids are you going to let me have?" Derek shot back, pulling him into the master bedroom where there was a bed. And that was it so far.

"Oh is it up to me then?" he said, smiling at the sparseness of the bedroom. "Or is it that if I don't set a limit we'll end up with twenty kids?"

"I like big families," Derek replied with a shrug. He continued to tug on Stiles' hand toward the master bathroom for Stiles' inspection. The tub wasn't as large as it could have been, but it was better than the one back in Fandom. "Mr. Only Child."

"A big family is one thing. Twenty kids is another." He nodded approvingly at the tub. "Nice bathroom."

"You don't want to have a weird show about having too many kids? Shame." Because Derek was totally angling for a reality TV show.
