So Derek had...quite the weekend. It was weird for Stiles too but he knew that was nothing compared to what Derek went through. Stiles wasn't even sure if he wanted to see his mother again if it would mean having to say goodbye again.

Stiles still wasn't great at this comforting thing but he was doing what he could. Mostly that meant he bought donuts and coffee at JGOB while Derek was still upstairs in their room. See? Comfort!

Though it probably didn't help that Stiles was eating all the jelly donuts in the kitchen instead of letting Derek know there was food.

"I'm comforted," Derek assured him. "You got me food and haven't mentioned any embarrassing stories she might have shared when I was out if earshot."

"There's really no way your embarrassing stories could beat mine anyway," he said. "And you won the puberty lottery so you should be like impervious to embarrassment."

"The puberty lottery?" Derek asked, biting his lip to try and smother the grin at that.

"I mean, come on, look at you," Stiles said, gesturing towards Derek's body. "You didn't always look like that."

"I was always cute," Derek replied. and he was really glad no photos of his ill-fated attempts at fashion survived. "Werewolf thing."

"I've seen you as a kid," Stiles reminded him. "You were goofy looking."

[justlurkinghere]

"Dentists and young werewolves don't mix." And his teeth were adorable. His mom said so.

"Excuses, excuses."

[justlurkinghere]

"I'll bite you," Derek warned, making a move for the donuts.

"Is that supposed to be punishment?" he asked.

"...I won't bite you?" Damn their sex life!

Stiles chuckled. "Much better threat."

[justlurkinghere]

"You missed out on hearing my mom talk to Jack about being as--" he made a face. "--affectionate with my dad."

Derek was still traumatized by this. Share his trauma.

"Ewwwwww." Very mature reaction.

"I think it was her getting me back."

[robinonadderall]

"Well you did leave a lot of hickeys on me." They were still there, actually. "That was probably gross for her."

They really were.

"It was so much worse for me."

[robinonadderall]

"You think?" he asked. "I mean, she had to see the evidence."

[justlurkinghere]

"But parents."

[robinonadderall]

"Okay but imagine seeing our kid's hickeys," Stiles said. "That'd be horrifying."

"They'd have to be allowed to date for that to happen." Thanks, Derek.

Stiles huffed. "I have learned from enough TV shows that parents banning their kids from dating only ends with the kid sneaking out and dating some rebellious loner with a motorcycle."

"They'd have to get by a cop and a werewolf." Mostly the cop. Let's be real, Stiles had the skills at detection.

Stiles smiled, kissing Derek on the cheek. "Aww, you're gonna be the protective dad."

"Oh, like you won't be," Derek huffed.
