Semi-Creepy Mansion | Monday Morning

The pizza had been eaten, there might have been a child or two traumatized by Stiles' choice in movies but at least there hadn't been any injuries despite the fact it was a bunch of children inside the creeper mansion. All in all it was a pretty successful sleepover for one that Stiles was half-responsible for.

Sadly now there was a bunch of adults and one teenager to deal with a morning after. Surely this won't be awkward. Or painful. Derek was involved so it might end up being painful.

Pinkie lay sprawled out in the corner tiny-her had picked to hide in, snoring cartoonishly, her tongue hanging out the side of her mouth.

Well. At least she'd ended up with a pillow.

Well, at least Stiles hadn't been the only one making noises in his sleep. He had once seen something on TV where a horse kicked a dude in the face for startling it so he wasn't about to shake Pinkie awake or anything.

But he would stand a few feet away and stay her name. "Um, Pinkie? Pinkieeee."

"Oh no, Mrs. Cake," Pinkie mumbled in her sleep. "I don't know who ate all the marzipan."

Stiles snorted and then-- "Hey, wait, I am not a Mrs. Anything."

He was a Mr. Cake, thank you!

"No, no," Pinkie said. "You don't look anything like an armadillo."

"Oh thanks," Stiles said, shaking his head. It was a good thing Derek would wake her up with a pillow because Stiles thought she was too adorable to do it himself.

"The butler did it," Pinkie told him very sleepily seriously. And then she started to regail him with a surprisingly-coherent-for-sleep-talking tale of how the butler was really an old timey movie villain complete with twirly mustache who liked to tie marzipan armadillos to train tracks.

Also, the butler was a gryphon, but she apparently didn't feel the need to explain that bit. Suffice to say, he had claws and sometimes left blue feathers lying around.

Derek responded to that maturely by throwing a pillow to wake her up. Because he didnt do gentle good mornings, thank you.

Pinkie woke up screaming and flailing. "WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!" she bellowed, then started running in tight circles. "Attack bats! Attack bats!" Then she finally opened her eyes, saw the pillow, and grinned. "Oh! Never mind! It's just a pillow!"

"I think I liked the other pony better." BECAUSE YOU ARE HORRIBLE, DEREK.

"What other pony? There's another pony here?" Pinkie pranced in place and craned her neck -- elongated her neck -- to look around for the other pony.

Because the tiny depressed pink pony WAS her, so clearly he didn't mean that.

Derek just sighed again. "No. There is no other pony."

Pinkie boggled at him. "Then why'd you say there was?" Really, that was just rude, getting her hopes up like that.

"Happy sleepover morning," said Kitty, who hadn't been there but was enjoying herself anyway.

"Hihi!" Pinkie greeted. "Were you a little filly over the weekend, too?"

"Nope, I was just regular me," she said. "Did you have fun?"

"I always have fun." That wasn't actually 100% true, especially not when she was a tiny filly, but she liked to look at the world through Pinkie colored glasses. "Derek was a really good party host!"

"You should tell him that. I think he needs to hear compliments more often." She wasn't even joking there.

"Oooo, you're right! I bet people totally misunderstand his grumpiness all the time!"

"No," Jack decided, to no one in particular. "She really doesn't get more normal looking when I'm grown."

[locointhecoco]

"That's alright," Pinkie assured him. "Humans still look like hairless bears to me, too."

"I still don't see the resemblance," Jack told her. "But I've never seen a hairless bear, either."

"It's the closest thing I could come up with. You definitely don't look like ponies or zebras or goats or sheep or dogs or birds or snakes or gryphons or basilisks or manticores or ferrets or roosters or apple trees or dragons or anything."

"Well, no," Jack had to agree. "They have real manticores and gryphons where you're from?"

Not that a few imaginary monsters were such a surprise, in a place with talking ponies.
