Semi-Creepy Mansion | Monday Morning

The pizza had been eaten, there might have been a child or two traumatized by Stiles' choice in movies but at least there hadn't been any injuries despite the fact it was a bunch of children inside the creeper mansion. All in all it was a pretty successful sleepover for one that Stiles was half-responsible for.

Sadly now there was a bunch of adults and one teenager to deal with a morning after. Surely this won't be awkward. Or painful. Derek was involved so it might end up being painful.

"What other pony? There's another pony here?" Pinkie pranced in place and craned her neck -- elongated her neck -- to look around for the other pony.

Because the tiny depressed pink pony WAS her, so clearly he didn't mean that.

Derek just sighed again. "No. There is no other pony."

Pinkie boggled at him. "Then why'd you say there was?" Really, that was just rude, getting her hopes up like that.

"No reason." EVERY DEPRESSING REASON.

"Oh. Well, sorry about filly-me. I didn't really learn how to smile until I got my cutie mark."

"Your what." Derek immediately regretted the words. Because he knew this would end badly.

[locointhecoco]

Pinkie twisted to be able to point to the trio of balloons on her flank with her nose. "Cutie mark! All the ponies back home have them. They appear when we discover our special talent that makes us unique!"

"...your talent is balloons."

Pinkie laughed happily. "No, silly, it's parties!"

WHERE DID THE CONFETTI COME FROM?

It was in his hair! Get it out! Get it out!

"How silly of me." HE HATED HIS LIFE SO MUCH RIGHT NOW.

"You were pretty good at it last night, you know. You were friendly all weekend!"

[justlurkinghere]

"I was ten," Derek replied. The word 'ten' sounded synonymous with 'too stupid to function'.

[locointhecoco]

"And I was too young to have even learned what a 'party' was," Pinkie pointed out. "But you were still super nice and made sure I was included."

She was COMPLIMENTING you, Derek. Take the compliment.

YOU CAN'T MAKE HIM.

"You were farming rocks." Seriously, what the hell was up with that?

[locointhecoco]

"Yep," Pinkie agreed. "It's the family business."

[justlurkinghere]

"How is that a business?"

[locointhecoco]

"I have no idea. I left not long after a rainbow exploded in the sky above the farm and taught me how to smile."

Someday, Derek would learn to stop asking Pinkie questions about how her world worked.
