Semi-Creepy Mansion | Monday Morning

The pizza had been eaten, there might have been a child or two traumatized by Stiles' choice in movies but at least there hadn't been any injuries despite the fact it was a bunch of children inside the creeper mansion. All in all it was a pretty successful sleepover for one that Stiles was half-responsible for.

Sadly now there was a bunch of adults and one teenager to deal with a morning after. Surely this won't be awkward. Or painful. Derek was involved so it might end up being painful.

"What's your problem?" he groused. "Don't think I didn't hear about you kicking Stiles, Jesus Christ."

Derek stuck with his tried and true method of dealing with things he didn't want to and glared some more. You go, Derek. Glare those pesky emotions away!

"You know, that doesn't actually equate to communicating," Mike pointed out. "You know that, right?"

Oooo, he got a shrug for that. It was borderline communacative?

Mike scoffed. "You were less childish as a kid, man."

"I also thought trusting a stranger was a good idea." He had no sympathy for younger Derek.

"It speaks!" Mike couldn't help snarking. "Hey, you were with me and Stiles. We're not exactly the most harmful strangers around."

Well, that was true. Wait... What was that? Oh god, a mountain of trust issues was coming this waaaaay!

"Don't call me it." Well, you didn't even try, Derek. No gold star for you.

Mike raised his eyebrows, because that was what he was going with, really?

"Okay then."

He sighed, looking away as twinkly Lifetime music played. "You're not running away screaming about the strangeness yet."

Yes, he said 'yet'.

Mike shrugged. "Screaming's not really my thing. Running's fine, but I haven't felt the need."

He could be tenacious when he wanted to be.

"Yet." Derek was just going to give you a speculative look again.

Snort. "Quit looking at me like that, I'm not going anywhere."

"I'm sure." Give it a full moon.

Mike rolled his eyes. "Look, can we stop with this ominous shit right now? Everyone's had a long weekend."

"You have no idea what you're getting into here," Derek informed him. Because of reasons.

"A bad horror movie, by the sound of it?" Mike quipped. "You need to lighten up a little, man. Seriously."

"Horror movies don't get facts right," Derek replied. "Stay out of the house on the full moon. Understood?"

"Okay, what the hell is up with all this end of the month, full moon stuff?"

He wasn't sure he wanted to know, but he was already getting tired of hearing it.

"Really?" Derek asked, not sure how it wasn't obvious. "Really?"

"What? Two days ago I thought everything around here was normal!"

A beat.

"Well, maybe not you, specifically. But still. So yes, really."

"Stiles is quicker on the uptake than you." That's not nice, Derek. "I'm a werewolf. Do you need me to explain it in smaller words?"

People from Beacon Hills didn't count, Derek! Besides, Stiles was like a child genius!

Mike laughed. Not like it was funny. More like it was confusing and ridiculous and yet kind of plausible, under the circumstances.

"What?"

And look! Derek was capable of looking even less impressed by you, Mike! He exhaled slowly, staring Mike down for a moment before his eyes went a vivid shade of blue.
