Semi-Creepy Mansion | Monday Morning

The pizza had been eaten, there might have been a child or two traumatized by Stiles' choice in movies but at least there hadn't been any injuries despite the fact it was a bunch of children inside the creeper mansion. All in all it was a pretty successful sleepover for one that Stiles was half-responsible for.

Sadly now there was a bunch of adults and one teenager to deal with a morning after. Surely this won't be awkward. Or painful. Derek was involved so it might end up being painful.

Snort. "Quit looking at me like that, I'm not going anywhere."

"I'm sure." Give it a full moon.

Mike rolled his eyes. "Look, can we stop with this ominous shit right now? Everyone's had a long weekend."

"You have no idea what you're getting into here," Derek informed him. Because of reasons.

"A bad horror movie, by the sound of it?" Mike quipped. "You need to lighten up a little, man. Seriously."

"Horror movies don't get facts right," Derek replied. "Stay out of the house on the full moon. Understood?"

"Okay, what the hell is up with all this end of the month, full moon stuff?"

He wasn't sure he wanted to know, but he was already getting tired of hearing it.

"Really?" Derek asked, not sure how it wasn't obvious. "Really?"

"What? Two days ago I thought everything around here was normal!"

A beat.

"Well, maybe not you, specifically. But still. So yes, really."

"Stiles is quicker on the uptake than you." That's not nice, Derek. "I'm a werewolf. Do you need me to explain it in smaller words?"

People from Beacon Hills didn't count, Derek! Besides, Stiles was like a child genius!

Mike laughed. Not like it was funny. More like it was confusing and ridiculous and yet kind of plausible, under the circumstances.

"What?"

And look! Derek was capable of looking even less impressed by you, Mike! He exhaled slowly, staring Mike down for a moment before his eyes went a vivid shade of blue.

Mike stumbled backwards. Well, took a step or two backwards. Not too much stumbling.

"... Uh, okay. I guess that's okay too."

"Understood?"

"Yeah."

But Mike looked like he was kind of reconsidering how smart this whole sharing a house thing was.

"I'm not going to hurt you," Derek ground out. "Stay away when I tell you to and it's safe."

[newroutines]

"You sure about that?"

Because mostly people didn't find it that hard to be reassuring about not hurting people who they lived with.

"We're you scared of me when I was a kid? I had less control then."

Mike raised his eyebrows at that. He should have been more scared of the version that actually cracked a smile every once in a while?

"Yeah, you were also way less intimidating."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek just shrugged at that. "You want me gone?"

Mike could shrug, too!

"I want you to lighten the fuck up, man," he said. "Because if you're gonna keep glaring at me and kicking teenagers and generally not acting like a civilized person then yes, I will probably want you gone because who wants to live with that?"

He just had a really intense at rest face! Sometimes. Not, like, most of the time. He did get his glare on most of the time.

"I'm not chatty." Just as an FYI, Mike.

"You were when you were ten." And no, he wasn't going to ask whether something had happened to change that, because it was too early for terrible backstories. "Should occasionally try that now, too."
