Stiles...well he felt like he was finally getting to be able to sleep after a really, really long, tough day. He and Derek broke apart from the rest of the group soon after everything had happened, though Stiles did stay long enough to find out that Aiden had also died. Another death because of him.

His father wasn't home because of the havoc the nogitsune had caused at the hospital and sheriff's station but he was aware that it was all over. At least Stiles hoped it was all over. He didn't really feel all that relieved about it. Allison was still dead, Aiden was still dead and Derek was still acting weird.

He went up to his room when he got to the house, not really acknowledging the fact that Derek was right behind him. He really just needed to lie down.

Though the whole bed thing brought him up short to glare awkwardly at the room in general.

Stiles sat down on the bed, looking down at the floor. The fact that this was all over still hadn't really sunk in. Probably wouldn't for awhile.

"You just gonna stand there?"

"Maybe." Yeah, that was reasonable.

Stiles sighed, shaking his head to himself. "Fine, whatever."

Derek huffed, looking away. "Should I even be here?"

"Do you want to be here?"

[justlurkinghere]

"I don't know." And he didn't approve of the snowboarder decal being gone.

Well that hurt a little. He understood it a little, but still. Ow. "I won't stop you if you want to go."

"You're just going to keep giving up."

[robinonadderall]

Stiles' shoulders slumped. "People died because of me, Derek."

[justlurkinghere]

"This won't bring them back," Derek said softly, shoulders dropping some of the aggressive posture.

"You don't think I know that?" he snapped.

[justlurkinghere]

"Hoping so. It's a better explanation."

[robinonadderall]

"Better than wanting to get rid of the nogitsune?" he asked. "Seemed like a pretty good explanation to me."

Derek sighed, looking away. "I doubt anyone would want to punish you for what that thing did."

"Still had my face," he said. "It was my fault it got so out of control."

He couldn't help but think he should have done something to stop it once he realized what was happening. There was something to be said for the way Allison's mom handled things.

"Is that the truth or what you want to be the truth? "

[robinonadderall]

"Does it matter?" It was how he felt and that was kind of hard to change. "What do you want from me here, Derek?"

"I want to know you're not going to give up again," Derek hissed. "That work?"

Stiles pressed his lips together, immediately wanting to argue that. That wasn't exactly how he saw it, though he (reluctantly) could see why Derek looked at it that way. "I was desperate. I wanted it to be over."

Derek just glared at him, stalking away. Because he had issues, damn it.

"Derek--" Stiles got up and followed after him 'cause he didn't feel like he was explaining himself well here. "Derek, just wait a second. I didn't say I felt that way now."

He was just digging himself deeper here.

Tiny tiny bit.

"Is that supposed to make me feel better?"

Yes. But Stiles was smart enough not to say that. "I just wanted you to try to understand what I was thinking."

Derek stared at him. "I understand it, I just don't agree with it."
