Stilinski House | Thursday Afternoon

It was just Stiles and Derek in the house today since his dad was at work and Scott and Lydia had decided to focus more on trying to solve the nogitsune problem now that they were sure Stiles was fine. Stiles had spent the morning putting together a bag for Eichen House, though he wasn't quite sure what was appropriate for a stay at a place like that. Did he bring his own clothes? He had no idea.

Once that was taken care of he decided to finish up some loose ends before he got his phone taken away from him, curling up in bed and dialing Kitty's number. He figured he owed her an explanation.

Stiles laughed a little bitterly. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Just ask the people I've killed over the last week. Or Derek and Scott, 'cause I tortured them."

[throughaphase]

"You what?"

Oh look, she could be surprised!

[robinonadderall]

"Killed people. Tortured them. Blew up my dad's office," he said sadly. "That's why I called. I need you to stay away from me."

[throughaphase]

"You know you can't hurt me, right?" she said. "I mean, that's one thing you don't have to worry about."

[robinonadderall]

"Maybe not physically." If there was one thing he learned, it was that the nogitsune almost preferred the mental stuff. "I'm not going to be home until this all gets sorted out. I'm actually going to put myself somewhere where I can't hurt anybody. Anybody else."

[throughaphase]

That sounded ominous. "Where's that?"

[robinonadderall]

"Eichen House," he answered. "It's a mental healthcare facility in Beacon Hills."

AKA a nuthouse.

"I'm going in tomorrow for a 72 hour initial stay. No calls or visits or anything at first."

[throughaphase]

"I guess at least there'll be someone watching you all the time," Kitty said, trying to look for a bright side.

[robinonadderall]

"At least there's that," he agreed. "I'm serious about what I told you, if you see me you need to run away."

[throughaphase]

Kitty wasn't very good at running away, but it wouldn't do any good to argue with him, either. "Okay," she said. "Scott and Derek and your dad... they okay?"

[robinonadderall]

"In a manner of speaking," he said dryly. "None of us know what to do. Scott's freaking out, my dad looks sad all the time and Derek's freaking out but he's trying to pretend he's not freaking out."

[throughaphase]

She felt so bad for everyone, seriously. "It sounds like a lot for everyone to handle."

When you weren't used to handling it, anyway. This sort of thing happened to the X-Men roughly every few months.

"It just feels like I'm waiting for it to take over again," he admitted. "Nobody has any idea on how to get rid of it."

[throughaphase]

"Somebody has to," Kitty told him, and she meant that. "It'll get figured out."

[robinonadderall]

"I hope so." He didn't mention his other problem for the moment because that seemed to be like a lot to dump on somebody. "I don't want to hurt anybody else."

[throughaphase]

"I know. Just remember, though, it's not really you. It's someone who's using you," she said. "It isn't your fault, and you're trying to stop it."

[robinonadderall]

"I know. People keep telling me that," he said. "Still, I knew there was something wrong ages ago. I could have tried to pay more attention to it."

[throughaphase]

"There's no way you could have known it was this," she pointed out. "And even if you did, you wouldn't have known what to do about it then either."

[robinonadderall]

"Why can't you people let me feel bad about myself?" he asked lightly.

[throughaphase]

"Because we're super annoying like that," Kitty told him with a tiny smile.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles huffed out something that may have been a laugh. "I hope all of your optimism pays off."

[throughaphase]

"Me, too," Kitty said. "But seriously, I know so many people who've been controlled by either brainwashing or possession, and it's happened to me, too. And we all got through it, so I know you're going to get through it."

[robinonadderall]

"Did you kill people?" he asked.

[throughaphase]

"Very nearly," she admitted. "Stabbed a friend of mine through the heart with a sword. He's got a healing factor or he'd be dead. Instead I just did a lot of damage."

"I stabbed Scott with a sword," he admitted. "And I knifed Derek and locked him in the basement of his house."
