Stilinski House | Thursday Afternoon

It was just Stiles and Derek in the house today since his dad was at work and Scott and Lydia had decided to focus more on trying to solve the nogitsune problem now that they were sure Stiles was fine. Stiles had spent the morning putting together a bag for Eichen House, though he wasn't quite sure what was appropriate for a stay at a place like that. Did he bring his own clothes? He had no idea.

Once that was taken care of he decided to finish up some loose ends before he got his phone taken away from him, curling up in bed and dialing Kitty's number. He figured he owed her an explanation.

Kitty had been trying to get through some of the work she'd ignored on Tuesday, which meant she was closed up in the Caritas office and glad for the distraction. She checked to see who it was, then picked up with a "Hey there."

"Hey," he said. "Is this a bad time?"

"Nope. In fact you're saving me from boredom," she told him. "What's up?"

Stiles sighed, already hating he had to do this. "I know lately it feels like I just call when bad stuff happens but this bad thing is really bad so I can't not say something about it."

Uh oh. "That's okay," she said. "What happened?"

[robinonadderall]

"So you remember when I said there was an evil Japanese fox demon possessing somebody in Beacon Hills?" he asked. "We found out who it was."

[throughaphase]

"The nogitsune? Who is it?" She had a bad feeling about this.

[robinonadderall]

"Me," he answered. "It's possessing me. The only reason I'm myself right now is because Deaton injected me with something but it's not going to last. We don't know how to get rid of it yet."

Kitty paused, and once again, it was hard to bee too surprised by anything ever, given her life. "I'm sure this is a stupid question, but you're sure?"

Stiles laughed a little bitterly. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Just ask the people I've killed over the last week. Or Derek and Scott, 'cause I tortured them."

Derek had aggressively made sandwiches for them. Because he was handling this perfectly fine. Shut up.

"Here."

Now that your phone call was done, you can eat.

"You what?"

Oh look, she could be surprised!

"Killed people. Tortured them. Blew up my dad's office," he said sadly. "That's why I called. I need you to stay away from me."

"Thanks," he said. He wasn't really hungry but he didn't want Derek making sad faces at him. "You didn't have to do that."

"You know you can't hurt me, right?" she said. "I mean, that's one thing you don't have to worry about."

"I wanted to." He apparently also wanted to crowd into Stiles' space and act like a creepy octopus.

"Maybe not physically." If there was one thing he learned, it was that the nogitsune almost preferred the mental stuff. "I'm not going to be home until this all gets sorted out. I'm actually going to put myself somewhere where I can't hurt anybody. Anybody else."

"You really want to be that close to my face when I'm eating?" 'Cause you knew how he ate, Derek.

[throughaphase]

That sounded ominous. "Where's that?"

"I'll survive." But he did back off a little bit.

[robinonadderall]

"Eichen House," he answered. "It's a mental healthcare facility in Beacon Hills."

AKA a nuthouse.

"I'm going in tomorrow for a 72 hour initial stay. No calls or visits or anything at first."

Stiles placed his free hand on Derek's thigh for an additional bit of closeness while he dutifully ate the sandwich that was given to him. "Are you staying here after tomorrow or are you going back to Fandom?"

"I guess at least there'll be someone watching you all the time," Kitty said, trying to look for a bright side.

"At least there's that," he agreed. "I'm serious about what I told you, if you see me you need to run away."

Kitty wasn't very good at running away, but it wouldn't do any good to argue with him, either. "Okay," she said. "Scott and Derek and your dad... they okay?"
