Stiles practically ran to the mansion after returning to Fandom. He hadn't seen Derek for a week, hadn't talked to him in two days, and he put together enough from his last texts to know that crap was going down in Beacon Hills. He knew logically that if Derek had been dealing with anything Stiles had already been through then he'd make it out okay. Still. He wanted to see him.

"Derek?" Stiles called when he stepped through the doorway. "Derek?"

When he got no answer and saw that the ground floor was empty, he started going up the stairs. "Okay, I'm going to your room now. I know I'm not supposed to be there but it's your fault for not answering me."

"Derek, are you even home?"

"I'm not?" You could probably smell the relief on him. "Peter said I was lying when I told him no but he was probably being a manipulative dickbag, as per usual."

"Because you know what happens when I have a pack," Derek said slowly, not looking away from the hand to confirm anything on Stiles' face.

"No. God, Derek, no of course not," Stiles said, squeezing Derek's hand. "I'd say no to anybody who offered. I like being human, believe it or not. I don't have to be a werewolf to be in your pack."

"I want you in my pack," Derek said, crowding into Stiles' space until he was against a wall. His hands almost holding Stiles' head, but not quite touching it like everything was too fragile to touch.

And this went right back to being arousing. He really needed to get a hold of himself because this was pathetic.

"Okay," he said. "Okay, I want to be in your pack."

Derek nodded once like he was confirming it to himself that Stiles was telling the truth. He inhaled deeply before pushing forward to kiss Stiles. And, okay, it was a little awkward and frantic from an objective viewpoint.

Awkward and frantic were good words to use, yes. Stiles didn't much care though, too excited and overwhelmed by actually getting to kiss Derek. He looped his arms around Derek's neck and tried not to be completely inept at this.

There were things they should talk about, very important things, but he just wanted to enjoy this for a moment. Maybe for a few moments.

There was still a whole lot they should talk about before getting on with this. And possibly waiting for someone to have graduated so this was less distressing all around.

But this is what happens when you have several high emotion weekends in a row. Oh, and a few months of stifling tension building up. That too.

Derek ran his fingers through Stiles' hair, tugging slightly to correct the angle so it was ever so slightly less awkward.

Wow, that did make things better. And that was not exactly encouraging Stiles to stop. And they really should because talking. Talking things should happen.

Apparently Stiles was going to move on to mouthing at Derek's neck instead. Hey, if clothes stayed on it was okay, right? Right.

Okay, neck biting was not helping them stop and discuss things before mistakes were made.

More mistakes than this, yes. It was possible.

Derek groaned, moving a hand away from Stiles' head so that he could support himself against the wall even as his head tilted to the side to allow Stiles more room to work with.

Oh god, this was all going to end in embarrassment and hiding.

Stiles would not allow hiding. This was...well it might not have been right, but it wasn't completely wrong either. They were dating and Stiles was three lousy weeks away from turning eighteen, that was nothing.

Don't worry, the guilt of not respecting Derek's wishes would get to him soon.

But not before biting Derek hard on the neck because even Stiles found an alpha baring his neck to him hot.

They were just full of special issues between the two of them.

Well, if he wanted Derek to make a louder noise at that, he was richly rewarded. "Stiles--"

They totally needed to take a step back and go somewhere a bed wasn't.

Stiles stopped when Derek spoke, pulling away but still keeping his arms around Derek's neck. He was panting slightly and was doing his very best to catch his breath and to think clearly again.

"We should stop." Something he probably should have said five minutes ago.

Derek nodded, looking at Stiles' lips even then. Oh god, this was all the worst idea ever.

"I--" He'd totally attempted to seduce Stiles here, hadn't he?

"It's not that I don't want to," he said quickly. "I mean, I'm sure you could smell that I want to--"

Could probably feel it too at this point.

"But I thought you were pretty serious about waiting until graduation and we just talked about you wanting to be in love first..."

Stiles was kind of feeling like he had taken advantage of Derek when he was in his jacked up alpha state.

He was busy with his shame spiral, Stiles. Shame. Spiral.

"I didn't mean," Derek said, curling his hands into fists and looking everywhere but at Stiles. "I didn't mean to push you."

He wasn't even going to take the 'I'm an alpha!' out on this. Because he felt sick and ashamed of taking advantage like he had.

"It's fine, Derek," Stiles said. "To be honest I'm surprised we haven't jumped each other before now."

Come on, it had been a lot of sexual tension.

An ungodly amount!

Derek unconsciously put his hand to where a bite mark would be forming if he was someone else.

Which just made Stiles turn red and look ashamed. "I'm really sorry."

"You don't have to apologize," Derek muttered, dropping his eyes. "You stopped me before it got."

You know.

Before it got exactly where Stiles wanted it to go. Yeah. They were both guilty here.

"I think we should talk about what happened to you," he said. Moving on from the uncomfortable subject of wanting to jump each other would be good. "You can't feel great after all that, Derek."

"I'm not being investigated for attacking teenagers while I was half dead anymore and Peter is dead," Derek said, still not looking at him. Because mouths.

"Derek," Stiles said, trying to meet his eyes. "You were held captive by the woman who killed your family and you had to kill your own uncle. And now you're an alpha. That's going to have an effect on you. I can already tell the alpha thing is affecting you."

Hey now, that sounds like actual emotional consequences there.

Derek's mouth went tight and he lifted his chin. "I just need time alone."

Even though Laura hadn't needed that. There had been a lot of clinging, actually.

It was really hard to not look hurt by that. Actually it was so hard that Stiles couldn't pull it off at all.

"Okay," he said, pulling away from Derek completely. "Just let me know when you don't feel like being alone anymore."
