As far as Stiles was concerned the weekend had went pretty well. He got to see his father was in one piece with his own eyes and that, no, he didn't dream about the fact that his dad was slowly but surely getting used to this whole supernatural thing. So yeah, nothing traumatizing for him.

Which would be why he was over at the house, raiding the fridge. Puppy Joe was tucked under one arm because Stiles couldn't let him walk anywhere on his own. If anyone asked the dog was helping him decide what to eat.

"Right. I apparently can't count today." But Derek could and that was kind of weird that he knew that. "And your birthday is in a month."

Of course it's also weird that Stiles knew that.

"How do you know that?" He didn't even celebrate it on island last year!

"I have access to your police records, dude." And it was completely normal that he went through them.

"Right." A beat. "I don't celebrate."

That was a lie, Laura dragged him to a theme restaurant. People sang at him. It was horrible on so many levels.

Stiles smiled and gave Derek a pat on the shoulder. "We'll see about that."

"I will buy you such a nice Christmas present," Derek said through gritted teeth. Flowers will be involved.

"But I'm still enjoying your Christmas present from last year." Yes, the ugly necklace.

"I'll have months to pick something even better."

[robinonadderall]

"But what could be better than the necklace?" he asked.

"Maybe a bracelet." It will symbolize their friendship. "I'll get Pinkie to help me."

"I already made you a bracelet," he said. "It was beautiful and you can't copy me and my awesome gift."

"You need a matching one to show how good friends we are." Totally that reason. Yes.

[robinonadderall]

"Is that so?" he said. "So does that mean you need a necklace?"

Oh, you little shit. "Isn't that out of your price range?"

"Nope," he said simply. "I can get you something really nice. Maybe from Tiffany's."

No it'd be from Macy's.

"Tiffany's." HE DID NOT BELIEVE YOU.

Stiles nodded. "Only the best for you. I'm classy like that."

"Yeah, that's what I think of when you're mentioned. Classy."s

"Hey, screw you, I'm plenty classy." That probably would have had more impact if he didn't take a swig from the orange juice carton right after.

Derek leaned over into his space in a manner that was not at all bordering on flirting like a pre-teen. Or flirting at all. Nope.

"Werewolf."

[robinonadderall]

"You're not as scary as you think you are," Stiles informed him. Any licking of lips that might have happened after he spoke was involuntary.

And completely unhelpful!

Though Derek was, thankfully, in his right mind so a step back was taken. "You don't have a normal level of fear."
