As far as Stiles was concerned the weekend had went pretty well. He got to see his father was in one piece with his own eyes and that, no, he didn't dream about the fact that his dad was slowly but surely getting used to this whole supernatural thing. So yeah, nothing traumatizing for him.

Which would be why he was over at the house, raiding the fridge. Puppy Joe was tucked under one arm because Stiles couldn't let him walk anywhere on his own. If anyone asked the dog was helping him decide what to eat.

"That's...wait, why would he go to you about that?" he asked. "I don't need to be watched over."

Great job, Derek, now the Sheriff would have to sit through a lecture on how Stiles could take care of himself.

"Doesn't matter," Stiles said with a wave of his hand. "The fact he went to you is weird."

"It just is." Because that would indicate that his dad might have an idea of what Derek meant to him and Stiles didn't want to deal with that right now. "What did you say to him anyway?"

"That it's safer here than Beacon Hills," Derek muttered. Because everyone loved a misunderstanding that could easily be fixed should people talk to each other.

"Your teacher brought it by on Wednesday." It had been confusing.

"Well I'm glad you enjoyed yourself." He didn't even know if he was referring to the book or whatever terrible English teacher scenario he was imagining now. "Like I said, have to go write a book report."
