As far as Stiles was concerned the weekend had went pretty well. He got to see his father was in one piece with his own eyes and that, no, he didn't dream about the fact that his dad was slowly but surely getting used to this whole supernatural thing. So yeah, nothing traumatizing for him.

Which would be why he was over at the house, raiding the fridge. Puppy Joe was tucked under one arm because Stiles couldn't let him walk anywhere on his own. If anyone asked the dog was helping him decide what to eat.

"Nope," he said simply. "I can get you something really nice. Maybe from Tiffany's."

No it'd be from Macy's.

"Tiffany's." HE DID NOT BELIEVE YOU.

Stiles nodded. "Only the best for you. I'm classy like that."

"Yeah, that's what I think of when you're mentioned. Classy."s

"Hey, screw you, I'm plenty classy." That probably would have had more impact if he didn't take a swig from the orange juice carton right after.

"So classy," Derek drawled.

"Oh bite me." Take that.

Derek leaned over into his space in a manner that was not at all bordering on flirting like a pre-teen. Or flirting at all. Nope.

"Werewolf."

[robinonadderall]

"You're not as scary as you think you are," Stiles informed him. Any licking of lips that might have happened after he spoke was involuntary.

And completely unhelpful!

Though Derek was, thankfully, in his right mind so a step back was taken. "You don't have a normal level of fear."

"Plenty of other werewolves scare me," Stiles said. "You're just one who doesn't."

But Derek did make him nervous sometimes, which was why he was glad there was space between them again.

That was a different kind of nervous!

"Well, I should be."

"Never going to happen," Stiles said, laughing a little. "Those days went out the window after seeing you as a little kid."

"Maybe next time you'll be a kid." No, Derek. The humiliation was forever yours.

"What good would that do?" he asked. "You're already not afraid of me."

"Maybe I'll get more embarrassing stories." Aren't you sad you can't tell if he's lying, Stiles?

"Who are you getting so-called embarrassing stories from now?" Stiles asked. "Jackson? Is it Jackson? A lot of kids ate paste in elementary school, don't listen to him."

"Your dad did stop by this weekend." And yes, this is what Derek was going to let you think happened. "But I'll make sure to ask Jackson too."

"You talked to my dad?" That probably wasn't good. "Why?"

"He showed up here."

IT WAS YOUR FAULT, STILES.

"I thought you knew."

[robinonadderall]

"No I didn't know," he said. "What did he say?"

"Made sure you're safe." That was... accurate.

[robinonadderall]

"That's...wait, why would he go to you about that?" he asked. "I don't need to be watched over."

Great job, Derek, now the Sheriff would have to sit through a lecture on how Stiles could take care of himself.

At least the Sheriff could point out all the hospital trips. And stare Stiles into silence.

Derek wished he could still do that.

"He's your dad."

"Doesn't matter," Stiles said with a wave of his hand. "The fact he went to you is weird."
