Apartment Outside of Quantico VA - Tuesday Afternoon

Day two of his FBI student program had gone more smoothly than day one. The excitement of finally taking a step towards his dream career was still there but he was able to focus today instead of practically vibrating out of his seat with enthusiasm.

He still hated wearing a tie though, which is why it came off the instant classes were over. They needed to have a casual Friday or something. Maybe he'd bring that up with one of his teachers.

"It's only been a day." Terrible. He was terrible, Stiles.

Remember that picture on the internet of a dog that was tangled up in some blinds because he thought his person was never coming home and he panicked? That was Derek.

"Yeah and I know you." He knew how you got, Derek!

"I haven't been attacked by anything supernatural," Derek said like that counted as him being okay without Stiles supervision. "I miss you."

Which was stupid, it had only been a day.

"I miss you too," he said. "You're not too far though."

Not that it meant much when it came to the inability to spoon.

"The bed might stop smelling like you," he muttered.

He huffed. "I can easily show up and roll over the bed."

"Get a meal that's not microwaved," Derek replied, sounding a little less grumpy.

"That too," he said. "And sex."

Of course that.

"That was a given, I thought." Honestly, Stiles would be lucky if they didn't have sex in the parking lot.

"I mean, you might have learned to control your sex drive." In the last day and a half, yes.

"My sex drive?" Derek asked, trying to sound deeply offended and not like he was laughing. "You're the one who might not make it."

"I'm distracted by school," he said easily. "You're the one who is at home alone with nothing to do."

"I have my garden," Derek replied. "And I was thinking about joining the neighborhood watch."

Where he would just look surly at people in the hopes no one talked to him.

...he sounded like an old retired woman there, didn't he?

Stiles burst out laughing. In fact he was laughing so hard he had to fall onto the bed just because he was a dramatic person when it came to laughing.

"I hate you."

He did no such thing. He just strongly disliked him right now.

"So you're not coming to visit then?" Stiles teased. You know, once he caught his breath.

[justlurkinghere]

"As long as it doesn't distract you from this program," he replied after rolling his eyes again at the bullshit he lived with.

"And as long as it doesn't interrupt your neighborhood watch meetings."

[justlurkinghere]

Okay, that was a pretty good burn.

"I am feeling so much love for you right now."

[robinonadderall]

"As you should," he said. "But, seriously, neighborhood watch? What are you watching for?"

"Maybe I don't want people to think I'm a serial killer again." Not scowling at neighbors might help, but that was a bridge too far.

"You have a growing garden and a tiny fluffy dog," Stiles said. "Nobody is gonna think you're a serial killer. When I'm home it's clear we're the adorable gay couple next door."

Puppy Joe was pretty damn ridiculous looking.

Derek glanced over at where the dog was shamelessly taking up an entire massive chair with sheer force of will. "What should I do that isn't pining for you then?"

"Coming here and visiting me." Codependent.

[justlurkinghere]

"That's a lot of visiting," Derek replied, sounding pleased anyway. Because yes, so codependent. "What are we going to do when you start at a police academy?"

Sexy werewolf hijinks was the clear answer.
