How was it that Stiles' summer internship was more tiring than the classes? Unpaid hard labor, that's what this was. Unpaid hard labor that was required for him to get a good job out of college. Almost immediately after getting home from the police station he was working at Stiles went upstairs and flopped into bed. And immediately got a Puppy Joe sitting on his head.

Life was hard.

"The dog is on your face." You know. In cause Stiles hasn't noticed it.

Derek was there to point these things out.

"Is he? I thought it was you for a sec." Derek was a hairy man.

"Oh, you're not getting any sympathy now," Derek said even as he shuffled the dog down to sit in Stiles' back instead.

"You've done nothing all day," Stiles mumbled. "I worked. Feel bad for me."

"Poor, poor Stiles," Derek teased, sitting next to him. "Did you do more filing?"

[robinonadderall]

"I have paper cuts," he said, lifting his hand up for Derek to see.

Which made Derek do the sappy thing and pull out any pain from those paper cuts as soon as he touched Stiles' hand to inspect them. "Working you to the bone, huh?"

"For no pay," he said, rolling slowly over so Puppy Joe could get a hint and hop off of him. "The internship system is flawed."

"Planning a rebellion already?" Derek asked, taking that as his opportunity to flop onto Stiles' chest.

"Unfortunately I need the credit to help me get a job," he said, putting his hand in Derek's hair. "So I can support you in the future."

Oh, that was cheating. He hummed happily, tilting his head into Stiles' hand. "I am used to the finer things in life."

Like Netflix. And pizza delivery.

"I've got to keep you living the life you're accustomed to," Stiles said. "Don't want you leaving me for another man."

"I can't help my golddigging ways," Derek replied, curling an arm around Stiles' waist. "How were things other than the paper cuts?"

"Boring for the most part," he said. "Bunch of paper work."

[justlurkinghere]

"So... work?"

[robinonadderall]

"Yup," he said, wrapping his arms around Derek. "What did you do all day?"

[justlurkinghere]

"I cleaned and gardened." His life was nice and calm. This should be concerning.

"No papercuts for me."

[robinonadderall]

"Living the easy life," Stiles said, sighing. "Lucky you."

[justlurkinghere]

"You think I should get a job?" Derek asked, shifting so he could be creepy and sniff at Stiles.

[robinonadderall]

"Professional gardener?" he joked.

[justlurkinghere]

"I could." He would be fired in a week. But not for lack of trying.

[robinonadderall]

"Maybe we should wait and see if you actually manage to grow anything in our garden," he teased.

[justlurkinghere]

"Things are growing." Like three of them were. "We'll have a lot of zucchini."

[robinonadderall]

"Do you know how to cook zucchini?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"I think you can make bread with it?" So no. Not really.
