Lobby at Stiles' Dorm | Wednesday Afternoon

Stiles' sophomore year was trucking along at a fast pace but he was still feeling the beginnings of some student fatigue. He was tired of having to read textbooks and writing essays. The fact that he knew he had two more years of this plus grad school didn't help anything. His mopey texts to Derek had progressively gotten mopier to the point where Derek actually agreed to interrupt Stiles' studying and visit in the middle of the week.

His roommate was upstairs which was why Stiles was waiting in the lobby, impatiently keeping an eye on the door for Derek.

"Yes. Repeatedly."

Stiles shrugged innocently before digging into his pancakes. "I'm sure she appreciated picturing you as a naughty nurse."

"I'm keeping the phone number she leaves on the check," Derek shot back, stabbing into a slice of ham with his fork.

"Just in case this thing we've got going falls through?" he teased.

They were terrible people. "It's good to have a back up."

"I mean, I can go to the hotel by myself if you'd rather talk to her," he said, trying to keep a straight face.

"But where will I stay?" Derek asked, pretending to think it over as he reached over to steal some of Stiles' pancake.

"Hey!" Stiles said, slapping at Derek's hand. "You have your own food!"

Rude! "That you can have too."

[robinonadderall]

"But I don't want your food." It was all meat for the most part. It was like Derek ordered the caveman breakfast.

Paleo. It was totally paleo.

"What's wrong with my food?" Other than the lack of delicious carbohydrates.

"It's all meat," he said. "There's like three different kinds of pig on there."

"I think it's all the same pig," Derek shot back, spearing a sausage to eat gleefully.

"You're a caveman," he teased.

[justlurkinghere]

"Is that you asking for roleplay in the bedroom?"

[robinonadderall]

Stiles laughed. "I thought we were going for non-athletic sex today."

[justlurkinghere]

"There's always next time." Because they were them.

[robinonadderall]

"Okay, next time we can go for caveman sex," Stiles said with a nod. "You can just throw me over your shoulder and take me back to your den."

"Den?" Derek asked. "Should I have fangs and sideburns for this?"

[robinonadderall]

"Well cavemen did have a lot of hair..."

[justlurkinghere]

"You like the hair!"

[robinonadderall]

"I do," Stiles agreed. "I love the hair. It's all rugged and manly."

[justlurkinghere]

"Good. I never want to shave my chest again."

It was so nice to not have to bother.

"I promise I'll never make you shave your chest," he said before taking a last bite of pancake. "Ever."

"My hero," Derek replied, digging out his wallet to leave a generous tip for the waitress. Without getting her number at all.
