Lobby at Stiles' Dorm | Wednesday Afternoon

Stiles' sophomore year was trucking along at a fast pace but he was still feeling the beginnings of some student fatigue. He was tired of having to read textbooks and writing essays. The fact that he knew he had two more years of this plus grad school didn't help anything. His mopey texts to Derek had progressively gotten mopier to the point where Derek actually agreed to interrupt Stiles' studying and visit in the middle of the week.

His roommate was upstairs which was why Stiles was waiting in the lobby, impatiently keeping an eye on the door for Derek.

"It's sensible." And ridiculous. "What if you infect me somehow?"

"Pretty sure that's impossible," he said. "Unless Fandom weirdness is involved somehow."

"Has happened," Derek replied, opening the restaurant door for Stiles.

"How likely is it to happen again?" Annnnd he just jinxed it.

He really really did. Goddammit, Stiles.

Derek just gave him a look for that. Such a look.

"What?"

"If I get sick, I'm blaming you."

[robinonadderall]

"I'll survive that somehow," he said, taking a seat in a booth and grabbing a menu. "I'm starving."

"Try not to order too much," Derek joked. Because it was Stiles either that ptoblem.

"There's nothing wrong with leftovers," he said. "It could be a snack for later tonight."

[justlurkinghere]

"...leftovers?"

[robinonadderall]

"...yeah?" Seriously, Derek. "You know...leftover food. You are familiar with that, right?"

"How often do we manage that?" A beat. "Other than by ordering more after."

[robinonadderall]

"I blame you for that."

[justlurkinghere]

"I'll take that blame."

[robinonadderall]

"What are we doing after this?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"Whatever you want to do," Derek replied, putting down his menu. It was, after all, Stiles' mental health day.

Stiles shrugged. "Well I was hoping for some cuddling and napping."

Whether that was before or after some non-athletic sex was up in the air.

He was just asking for tender, soulful lovemaking. God help him.

Derek smiled, looking down at the table. "I think we can manage that."

Eye to eye contact the entire time, Lana Del Rey playing on one of their phones...

"Good," he said with a small smile. "'Cause I really need it."

Probably some mood lighting. Somehow.

"I can stay longer if you want too."

[robinonadderall]

"I'll be okay," Stiles said, trying to catch the eye of a waitress so they could order. "I just need a little break."

"And pancakes," Derek agreed, smiling at the waitress to hurry her up. He was not above using his looks for food.

Stiles couldn't really get jealous about that when it got them results. As soon as the waitress came up he ordered a huge stack of pancakes covered in strawberries and whipped cream.

He had needs, okay?

And Derek, of course, ordered more than strictly plausible. For leftovers.

"You're going to get diabetes."
