College was...college. After two years in Fandom it was kind of a slap of reality to have actual homework assignments again and, you know, having to study and stuff. It was kind of nice to have something that normal in his life again. But he was lonelier than he thought he would have been here. Then again, he hadn't been putting in a huge amount of effort to be social.

Maybe the lonely aspect of it put him on high alert for when somebody actually was paying attention to him. He had spent the morning getting the distinct feeling he was being watched while he was walking from class to class and once or twice he thought he caught a glimpse of a familiar leather jacket. At first Stiles just thought it was his head messing with him because Derek couldn't--surely he wouldn't...it had only been a week, after all...

...who was Stiles kidding, yes he would. When his last class let out and he, yet again, caught a glimpse of a familiar outline in the distance he pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed Derek's number. This was ridiculous, his life was ridiculous.

...Derek really should have put his phone on silent before creeping on college campuses.

He made a face, grabbing for his phone. "Hello?"

"Hey," he said casually. "What are you doing?"

Nothing. He was doing nothing.

"Going for a walk." In Maryland.

"Around the island?"

[justlurkinghere]

"...why?" Stop being observant, Stiles.

[robinonadderall]

"Because I'm not blind, Derek," he said, turning in the direction he had seen Derek last.

"You used to be less observant," Derek muttered, hitting end to slink on over toward Stiles. With his tail between his legs.

If he'd had a tail at that moment.

Stiles was torn between being amused and annoyed, he really was. "What are you doing?"

"Visiting you." Via stalking.

[robinonadderall]

"I caught sight of you after my first class this morning," Stiles pointed out. "You couldn't say hi then?"

[justlurkinghere]

"You had classes to get to," Derek replied. Because that was clearly the case.

Stiles just lifted his eyebrows. Because really, Derek.

Derek sighed like the drama queen he was. "I missed you, okay?"

[robinonadderall]

"I missed you too," Stiles said, shoulders relaxing. "You didn't have to stalk me, you could have called."

"I could have." But then he didn't get to be creepy. "How are you settling in?"

[robinonadderall]

He shrugged. "Okay I guess. Same as I was when you called last time."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek shuffled from one foot to the other, trying to look stoic and failing. "Do you want--"

Him to go? Food? A puppy?

[robinonadderall]

"I want you to stay," he said quickly. "I'm just surprised."

[justlurkinghere]

"I'll call next time." Probably just outside of the campus, but. Progress.

"You gonna hug me or something?"

[justlurkinghere]

Well, with an invitation like that...

Derek pulled him close, breathing in deeply like the freak he was. "It's only been a week."

[robinonadderall]

Stiles smiled against Derek's shoulder. "Having withdrawals?"

[justlurkinghere]

"I think I broke the Netflix," he only half joked.

[robinonadderall]

"You broke the Netflix so you decided to come visit," he said lightly. "How long were you stalking me for?"

[justlurkinghere]

"Not that long."

Enough to probably have campus security called.
