Since Stiles had slept on the couch last night he had noticed roaming dinosaurs and whatnot in the streets of Fandom. Honestly, even if he had been out there he probably wouldn't have noticed. Because he was really tired, okay? Sleeping soundly hadn't been his strong point for...like seven months now.

He had managed to make it to the coffee maker but decided to doze off halfway through, still standing up with his head against the counter and a coffee filter by his face.

"Stiles." This was not adorable or endearing, goddamn it.

Stiles response to that was to snuffle a little and bury his head against his arms. This was a totally comfortable way to sleep.

Derek sighed, carefully taking the coffee filter to finish the process. Maybe then Stileswould wake up to a Folgers commercial in the process.

It would be awesome.

"How do you survive?" He asked as he pushed the on button for the coffee maker.

The smell of coffee did get Stiles to crack open an eye but he didn't move his head out of his arms. "I think I'm dead. I'm so tired that I died."

"You're not dead," Derek assured him, grabbing two cups to get the appropriate amount of cream and sugar in one for Stiles. "Corpses don't usually whine so much."

"Do I want to know how you know that?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"No."

[robinonadderall]

"Ugh." Stiles slid off the counter and went all the way down until he was on the floor. "I'm so tired."

Which let Derek step over him to pour the coffee. Then he took a step back to offer it to the lump on the floor. "Should I get you a pillow? Blanket?"

"Carry me to the couch."

[justlurkinghere]

"I'm not carrying you to the couch." Because there was hot coffee involved.

"What kind of boyfriend are you?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"The kind who made you coffee?" Derek suggested. "And is going to make you a bagel."

[robinonadderall]

"You could be the kind that makes me coffee and bagels and carries me to the couch." Now he was just being difficult.

"I could also be the kind who eats a bagel in front of you and doesn't share," Derek shot back.

Their relationship was delightfully contrary.

Stiles sighed and pulled himself off the floor, coffee in hand. "I hate you."

That was a lie.

[justlurkinghere]

"No you don't," Derek replied, smiling brightly for an instant before it turned into a more reasonable smirk.

[robinonadderall]

"Nope, totally do," he said, bumping his shoulder against Derek's as he walked out towards the living room. "Your werewolf powers must be off."

It was adorable. Sickening levels of adorable.

Derek smirked to himself, getting out the bagels to toast a few... half dozen. Look, he had a very high metabolism, okay? Very high. "Thanks for the clarification."

"I want flavored cream cheese on my bagel," he called. Because he wanted to see what he could get away with when it came to Derek.

The toaster popped and Derek yelped at that. Yelped because he was rather abruptly on four feet and lacking in normal, human vocal cords. This is what happens when you push about cream cheese options, Stiles. This right here.

And horrible basketball shorts weren't really meant to be worn by a wolf, so he was also falling over his struggle to move.

That wasn't a noise Stiles was used to hearing from the kitchen. He pulled himself off the couch to inspect and immediately found himself backing out of the kitchen because holy hell, a wolf. "Oh my god!"

Yes, he was a super majestic wolf. Who was tearing up his clothing and thumping against the counter with enough force to rattle the things on it as he scrambled around. Stiles. Stiles, he was a wolf.

This was awesome and all, but. He was a wolf.

Stiles popped his head back into the room again. "Derek? I'm assuming this is you? Because if it isn't I need to run out of the house."

He shook the remains of the poor fashion choices off, ears cocking forward like he was trying very hard to show how much attention he was paying to Stiles to answer that. And then whined because apparently that's how he was able to vocalize distress.

Ugh. His life.
