Mansion of Post-Anesthesia High | Early Thursday Afternoon

So Stiles was now wisdom-tooth free. It was great to no longer be in pain, even though he was in for a hell of a time when it came to recovery. Luckily his oral surgeon had provided him with enough happy time drugs to keep him from being too miserable while he healed.

Not that he cared about that right now. He was still riding the anesthesia train and had been on cloud nine since Derek had driven him home.

"Derek, this door's broken," Stiles said, slurring his words as he pawed at the door handle. "I want to go inside, the dog's in there, I can hear him! Puppy Joeeeeeeeeee, your daddies are home! Open the door!"

"What? I don't--I can't--" There was a confused look because, seriously, putting two and two together right now was hard. "I'm human, man, I don't answer to anybody."

Stiles only had Deucalion's and the other Derek's pack to go by so he naturally thought it was all about being bossed around by the alpha.

"What?" Derek huffed, pushing himself off the couch. Because this wasn't even a conversation that was happening, thank you. "Never mind."

"You're being weird about something. I don't know what it is, but I'll figure it out. I won't forget this." He will totally forget this.

He also didn't much like Derek moving away from him. "Come here, I have to tell you something."

Excuse you, Derek was busy being irrationally upset at the person still under the influence of anesthesia here. Like the normal, emotionally healthy person he was.

"I can hear you from here," he said with a sigh.

Stiles held out his arms and made a 'come here' motion. "No, it's important. Important, serious business. You have to promise me something."

Derek sighed, walking back over so that he could hear whatever it is and go back to sulking like the adult he was. "What?"

"This is a serious business promise, okay?" Stiles said. "You ready to promise?"

[justlurkinghere]

"Fine," Derek huffed, arms crossed over his chest. You aren't adorable at all, Stiles. Not at all.

Well, good. Because he wasn't trying to be adorable. He was trying to be serious. So very serious. He looked Derek in the eye and very seriously said, "Stay away from English teachers."

"What." No, seriously. What.

[robinonadderall]

"They are horrible, evil, awful people who will trick you and lecture you on idioms," Stiles said. "You stay away from them."

Even drugged up he knew Derek probably wouldn't take such sage advice, which is why he thought of the next question out of his mouth. "Is scent marking a thing?"

"What?" No. Okay, a little bit of a thing. Tiny bit. Possibly mostly a born werewolf and therefore Derek thing. "Why are we talking about English teachers? I though you liked that new one."

"We're not talking about me, we're talking about you. You're not allowed near English teachers," Stiles said. "And you didn't answer my question."

[justlurkinghere]

"Fine, I'll stay away from English teachers." Ah hell no. He was going to make sure this new teacher wasn't planning to burn Stiles' house down.

And he was still not answering the scent marking question. Because that would make his indulgence of Stiles clothing theft awkward.

Stiles narrowed his eyes because his Very Important Question had not been answered. "Like, if I rubbed my face against your neck would that keep English teachers away?"

[justlurkinghere]

"What."

[robinonadderall]

"Isn't that what it is?" Stiles asked, squeezing his eyes shut for a moment like that would make things clearer for him. "Like marking your territory in a non-gross way?"

[justlurkinghere]

"Is your English teacher a werewolf?" Derek settled on once he managed to thoroughly repress Stiles 'marking his territory'.

[robinonadderall]

"Who knows!" Stiles said, flailing his hands up in the air. "I'm talking about all English teachers everywhere."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek just stared. Because none of this made any sense. "Why?"

[robinonadderall]

Stiles stared at Derek for a long moment. "I love Jell-O."

[justlurkinghere]

"I'll just go. Make Jell-O," Derek ventured, taking the time back away from Stiles again.

And then Stilea would stop being confusing.

"Put the ice pack on."

[robinonadderall]

He wasn't confusing, you were confusing!

"Fine," Stiles groaned, putting the ice pack on his face before flopping back on the couch.

Derek put the TV on, clutching the remote like a shield. He hoped Stiles was a big fan of Toddlers and Tiaras, because it was on marathon. And Derek took the remote with him to make the stupid Jell-O.

On the plus side, the kitchen also had the list of post surgery advice. Expect to get checked on every ten minutes, Stiles.

This was cruel and unusual punishment for wanting to scent mark you for your protection, isn't it? Luckily Stiles was too doped out to complain about the show Derek chose.

He wouldn't be exactly quiet while laying on the couch but at least it seemed he was talking to himself or the dog for the most part.

Don't worry, Derek, at some point soon you'd get to give him Oxycotin and he'd fall asleep and drool all over your couch.
