So Stiles was now wisdom-tooth free. It was great to no longer be in pain, even though he was in for a hell of a time when it came to recovery. Luckily his oral surgeon had provided him with enough happy time drugs to keep him from being too miserable while he healed.

Not that he cared about that right now. He was still riding the anesthesia train and had been on cloud nine since Derek had driven him home.

"Derek, this door's broken," Stiles said, slurring his words as he pawed at the door handle. "I want to go inside, the dog's in there, I can hear him! Puppy Joeeeeeeeeee, your daddies are home! Open the door!"

"Yes," Stiles answered after poking at them. "I'm supposed to, right? It's starting to hurt in my toothal area."

That was now a word.

"Yes." Probably. Look, he wasn't a dentist, okay? "You can have one pain pill if you want it."

One. He wasn't dealing with looped up Stiles more than he had to.

Yeah, this was going to be so awkward on radio tomorrow morning. Barton was going to murder him.

"...drink the rest of your water with it." There, rules had been set down. Derek grabbed the bottle, only struggling for a little bit before the motherfucking childproof was bested.

"Fine." Whatever allowed Stiles to have sweet, sweet painkillers. "Do I get to stay here tonight?"

What he was really asking was if he'd get to stay in Derek's bed while Derek was forced to sleep on the couch.

Yes, Derek was aware.

He sighed. "Well, I'm not dragging you back to the dorms." Because, let's be real, Cade would steal all your meds.

This was very true.

"Good," Stiles said, flopping against the couch again. "I love your bed."

"Don't tell people that." That was a 'hey, did you hear that Derek was arrested?' sort of thing. "Don't tell your dad that."

"Oh my god Derek, I'm not an idiot," Stiles said. "Besides, people can tell just by looking at me that it's not like that."

Derek just rolled his eyes, holding out the pain pill. They were back on the nonsensical 'don't go near English teachers' part of the day, huh?

Excuse you, he made perfect sense.

Stiles took the pill out of Derek's hand and knocked it back. Yes, he finished the water too. You won that one, Derek. Mostly because Stiles had a low pain tolerance and didn't want to feel any of this recovery,

Made no sense!

"Just tell me if it still hurts," Derek muttered after a moment. So that he could do his weird werewolf power of weirdness.

Right up there with smelling cancer.

"You'll be able to hear the whining from a mile away," Stiles assured him. "I think it's supposed to hurt though."

Accurate assessment.

"Watch your show." Because the remote was probably somewhere in the fridge.

"Yeah, yeah," Stiles said, making himself comfortable on the couch. He knew himself on painkillers so he knew he'd pass out in less than a half hour. "Thanks, Derek."

Derek shot him a look like he was insane to say something like that. Because it wasn't like he was taking time out of his busy day or giving up his bed or making special mushy meals or anything.

Because that would be weird.
