It was a bit of a dreary day which was why it was perfect to decorate for Halloween. Stiles may have gone a little nuts when it came to buying decorations but that's what happened with a Prime subscription and full access to Derek's credit card. Besides, the trick or treaters would love it.

And Stiles liked having fake spider webs and purple and orange lights all over the house even if nobody but him and Derek would see it. It was festive! Just wait until Christmas.

At least Derek would help with the Christmas decorating. Probably with awful Pinterest ideas from the local hobby store. Derek, no.

"How many fake spider webs do you even need?"

A lot, Derek. A lot.

"Well you clean too much for us to have real spider webs."

"I clean a regular amount!"

[robinonadderall]

"Too much," Stiles insisted. "Also I got us scary sheets to put on the bed."

Why? Because Halloween, that's why.

Halloween was the best holiday, clearly.

"If they're vampire themed, I'm breaking up with you."

[robinonadderall]

"They've got ghosts and pumpkins on them," Stiles said. "Please, I know well enough to have no vampire anything in the house."

He couldn't help his werewolf tendencies, Stiles.

Derek nodded like this was only right, giving one of the lights a poke. "You're going to scare any trick or treaters, aren't you?"

"The whole point is to scare trick or treaters." Duh, Derek. "And we're dressing up so you better get a costume in order unless you want me to choose for you."

You didn't want that, Derek.

"Can't I just dress up like a werewolf?" Which meant no costume at all.

"You're a werewolf the other 364 days of the year," Stiles said. "Be creative."

Derek sighed like this was the biggest hardship in his life. "What are you dressing up as?"

"Well I've got two costumes," Stiles said. "One for the trick or treaters and one for you after they go."

"...really?" Now he'd really have to buy a costume to stay on Stiles' good side.

[robinonadderall]

"Yup," he said with a nod. "But you don't get to know what that one is beforehand."

"How's that fair? What if I pick the same costume?" Yeah. That seemed oh so likely.

"Trust me, you won't," Stiles told him, moving to put more spider webs around the windows of the living room.

Which left Derek to trial after him. "No hints?"

Stiles sighed. "Don't you want to be surprised?"

[justlurkinghere]

Well, yes. Yes, he did. But it was hard.

"You're teasing me."

He was so so saaaad about it.

"Yes, I am." Did you think he'd be repentant?

[justlurkinghere]

"I'll get you back for this," Derek informed him, totally making that a reliable threat by hugging him from behind. So fierce and scary.

Stiles laughed and leaned back against Derek. "Oh no, whatever will I do?"

"Learn a valuable lesson about this?" Derek suggested.

[robinonadderall]

"And what lesson would that be?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"That you shouldn't be cruel to your fiance?" Derek suggested, attempting to covertly discard the fake spiderwebs as he kissed just under Stiles' jaw.
