It was just Stiles and Derek in the house today since his dad was at work and Scott and Lydia had decided to focus more on trying to solve the nogitsune problem now that they were sure Stiles was fine. Stiles had spent the morning putting together a bag for Eichen House, though he wasn't quite sure what was appropriate for a stay at a place like that. Did he bring his own clothes? He had no idea.

Once that was taken care of he decided to finish up some loose ends before he got his phone taken away from him, curling up in bed and dialing Kitty's number. He figured he owed her an explanation.

Derek had aggressively made sandwiches for them. Because he was handling this perfectly fine. Shut up.

"Here."

Now that your phone call was done, you can eat.

"Thanks," he said. He wasn't really hungry but he didn't want Derek making sad faces at him. "You didn't have to do that."

"I wanted to." He apparently also wanted to crowd into Stiles' space and act like a creepy octopus.

"You really want to be that close to my face when I'm eating?" 'Cause you knew how he ate, Derek.

"I'll survive." But he did back off a little bit.

Stiles placed his free hand on Derek's thigh for an additional bit of closeness while he dutifully ate the sandwich that was given to him. "Are you staying here after tomorrow or are you going back to Fandom?"

"I'll go back for a little bit." Maybe cling to his dog. "But I'll be back before your 72 hours are up."

"I might be in there a lot longer than 72 hours," he said. "That's just the amount of time I'm not allowed to have visitors or contact with anybody."

"So? I'm not going to not come see you."

[robinonadderall]

"Okay," he said, not wanting to argue. "I'm just saying you don't have to rush back if you don't want to."

[justlurkinghere]

"Someone has to keep your dad from running himself into the ground," Derek muttered. Meaning he needed something to do or he'd go insane abd the sheriff was a good excuse.

"How do you plan on stopping that from happening?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"Working on that."

[robinonadderall]

"Just make sure he doesn't eat any junk," Stiles said before finishing up his sandwich.

"I'll do my best to keep him out of the bacon," Derek promised.

[robinonadderall]

"Thanks," he said, giving Derek's thigh a squeeze. "I wonder if insane asylum food is gonna be good or not."

"Probably like hospital food," Derek said, tucking his chin over Stiles' shoulder.

"Great," he said, making a face. "Can't wait."

"I'll smuggle you brownies."

Like you do.

Stiles huffed. "Don't get me sent to solitary confinement or whatever it is they do to punish crazies."

"I didn't say there'd be a shiv in there," Derek replied dryly.

[robinonadderall]

"Yeah but brownies are probably contraband," he said.

[justlurkinghere]

"That's stupid." His brownies were amazing.

[robinonadderall]

"This whole thing is stupid," he mumbled. 'Cause it was very stupid it felt necessary to do this.

Derek responded to that with a kiss, ignoring the crumbs on Stiles' mouth.
