Stiles had ducked out of the dance fairly early on, deciding he had done his teenagerly duty and had at least shown up. Then he headed off (without even a sip of spiked punch!) towards the place he actually wanted to be tonight.

He let himself inside, picking up Puppy Joe on the way to the living room. The dog immediately tried to do his best to knock Stiles' flower crown off his head. Which was rude.

It was just a tie!

Okay, it was a tie that involved Derek needlessly touching Stiles' neck once the knot was loosened enough.

Well then he could probably feel Stiles' pulse tick up a little. He really didn't know what to do with his hands and eventually settled them against Derek's hips. For balance. Sure.

"You don't have to re-tie it," he said. "It's not like I have to stay dressed up anymore."

Balance was totally a reason!

"Did you have fun?"

Yes, they were just going to have a perfectly normal conversation here. No UST at all.

Stiles shrugged. "I was kind of bored."

"It was your senior prom."

Derek, stop petting his neck with your thumb.

He shrugged again, trying to remain cool and not like some virgin who couldn't handle being touched without getting weak in the knees. "Rather be here."

Well, it helped Derek that he was just a surprisingly tactile person. Which meant he wasn't straight up thinking about all the dirty implications.

Yet.

Derek huffed in amusement, then nodded at that. "You look good. Aside from the tie."

"Thanks," he said, smiling slightly. If he slid his hands up under Derek's shirt a little it was a complete accident. Or he was trying to get his hands warm. Either one.

So, so rude, Stiles. So much so that Derek's hands were sliding around to cup the back of his neck more easily.

And oh, how the tension in this moment was dragging right on out to a breaking point.

"No spiked punch?"

"Nope." He was completely sober doing this. Seemed like tonight was the night to push boundaries. "Didn't want you glaring at me all night."

And the glaring would have been pretty epic, it's true.

"So, you planned to come over after," Derek muttered, leaning further into Stiles' space without realizing it.

"I wanted to see the dog." Yeah that was a lie. The fact that he nudged his nose against Derek's playfully probably gave that away even if Derek wasn't a werewolf.

"I should get the couch made up for you," Derek said even as he stayed exactly where he was. But he clearly needed to get what should be happening out there for him.

Before just slightly turning his head to brush his lips against Stiles' in what could just barely be called a kiss.

Stiles was happy to turn that into something that everybody would agree was a kiss. Because they deserved this, damn it.

He also put his arms completely around Derek to tug him closer. Because they deserved that too.

Derek inhaled sharply in surprise (and because he was a strange werewolf who liked Stiles' scent, what?) as he moved forward without any objections that should have gone in there. Because yes, they deserved just a little of this.

He moved his hand up through Stiles' hair as he kissed back, just enjoying it for the moment.

His perfectly styled hair that was styled to look messed up? How dare you, Derek. Stiles would complain. Maybe. Later.

You know what? Making out was more fun than complaining. So he was going to keep doing that and resist the urge to push Derek towards the couch. Because that led to terrible things.

Yes, as long as they stayed away from horizontal surfaces or walls, they were safe. They should probably avoid shelves or any other shaped furniture.

Look, there was a lot of pent up UST there that this was really just easing slightly.

And what the hell was Derek supposed to do with his other hand here. Since one was busy messing up that hair so it really looked artfully messed up. He moved it forward to grab hold of the tie that still hung there.

That was just unfair, Derek. How was he supposed to be responsible about this when you were doing stuff like that? Now he had to move his hands down to your ass. Had to.

Oh, they were being responsible? Well, why didn't anyone tell Derek that? That was an important memo to share, Stiles.

Derek made a happy little noise in his throat, fingers clutching at Stiles' hair in response to that. Because of being responsible.

Excuse you, not getting Derek on a flat surface so he could grind against him was super responsible, thank you. Though that was getting harder to ignore now that he was finally touching Derek's ass. And it was a great ass.

He really couldn't be blamed for ducking his head down and attempting to give Derek a hickey.

And that got an even more desperate noise out of Derek as he let his head fall to the side to allow Stiles all the room he wanted. It was just sad that a mark wouldn't take on him, really.

Stiles really liked those noises. Those noises made it hard to stop. And also made him feel less guilty about giving in and pushing Derek towards the couch.

Look, he wasn't very good at restraining himself.

He really wasn't, it was true. But apparently neither was Derek since he was falling back against the couch like he didn't have all those werewolf super powers to prevent Stiles from manhandling him.

...okay, so maybe he was really into the manhandling thing.

But either way, he dragged Stiles with him by his tie. Which helped not at all.

YOU GUYS HAD ONE JOB AND IT WAS TO AVOID THE COUCH. ONE JOB.

THEY WERE VERY BAD AT THEIR JOBS, IT WAS TRUE.

At least they weren't horizontal? Stiles climbed up onto Derek's lap, sure, but they weren't laying down. So that was something.

Yeah no this was going to end in frustration.

He hadn't really gotten this far with anybody outside of weird weekends, but Stiles just went with what felt natural. Apparently what felt natural was pushing his fingers into Derek's hair to manhandle him into kissing him again. And to grind down against his lap. That too.

That was... better than horizontal, yes. And they were fully clothed! That helped too!

Derek had been staring at him, a little dumbstruck when Stiles had climbed onto his lap, so the kiss was a good cover for him too. Though being able to feel what was either one hell of a belt buckle or Stiles' erection against his stomach was a little more sobering to the situation they'd managed to get into.

"Stiles," he said, pulling away from the kiss enough for that. And, okay, to make a few needy noises at the whole grinding thing happening.
