Stiles had ducked out of the dance fairly early on, deciding he had done his teenagerly duty and had at least shown up. Then he headed off (without even a sip of spiked punch!) towards the place he actually wanted to be tonight.

He let himself inside, picking up Puppy Joe on the way to the living room. The dog immediately tried to do his best to knock Stiles' flower crown off his head. Which was rude.

And that got an even more desperate noise out of Derek as he let his head fall to the side to allow Stiles all the room he wanted. It was just sad that a mark wouldn't take on him, really.

Stiles really liked those noises. Those noises made it hard to stop. And also made him feel less guilty about giving in and pushing Derek towards the couch.

Look, he wasn't very good at restraining himself.

He really wasn't, it was true. But apparently neither was Derek since he was falling back against the couch like he didn't have all those werewolf super powers to prevent Stiles from manhandling him.

...okay, so maybe he was really into the manhandling thing.

But either way, he dragged Stiles with him by his tie. Which helped not at all.

YOU GUYS HAD ONE JOB AND IT WAS TO AVOID THE COUCH. ONE JOB.

THEY WERE VERY BAD AT THEIR JOBS, IT WAS TRUE.

At least they weren't horizontal? Stiles climbed up onto Derek's lap, sure, but they weren't laying down. So that was something.

Yeah no this was going to end in frustration.

He hadn't really gotten this far with anybody outside of weird weekends, but Stiles just went with what felt natural. Apparently what felt natural was pushing his fingers into Derek's hair to manhandle him into kissing him again. And to grind down against his lap. That too.

That was... better than horizontal, yes. And they were fully clothed! That helped too!

Derek had been staring at him, a little dumbstruck when Stiles had climbed onto his lap, so the kiss was a good cover for him too. Though being able to feel what was either one hell of a belt buckle or Stiles' erection against his stomach was a little more sobering to the situation they'd managed to get into.

"Stiles," he said, pulling away from the kiss enough for that. And, okay, to make a few needy noises at the whole grinding thing happening.

"Yeah?" Stiles was panting a little, lips red and swollen from all the kissing. The grinding was still happening though it was slow and Stiles wasn't really conscious of it.

...so terribly rude of him. All of that.

"We need to stop," he managed to force out, staring at Stiles' lips with way too much intensity. The whole beard burn probably did not help Stiles' poor face either.

Yeah the beard burn was going to make things awkward tomorrow. Learn to condition, Derek!

"Okay," he said, nodding. He couldn't help but sound a little disappointed though. He slid off Derek's lap and onto the couch.

HE WOULD WORK ON IT.

"We--we need to wait," Derek said, not looking at him because he could smell all that. He ducked his head down like he was apologizing for this.

"I know." Didn't make it suck any less. "I'm sorry."

Derek looked over at him at that like he couldn't figure out why Stiles was apologizing here. "Three more weeks. I'll make it up to you."

"You don't have to," he said, rubbing at his eyes. "I mean not unless you want to."

He felt really bad about pushing Derek about all this.

Derek leaned over to kiss him again, all sickeningly bubblegum sweetness and none of the heat and need from before. "I'm sorry."

"It's my fault," he said. "I shouldn't have pushed."

Especially before they had their little sex talk.

No, Stiles didn't count that as pushing. He counted that as being responsible.

Which was totally accurate.

"You didn't," Derek replied. "We both moved too fast."

And you stopped when he said to, Stiles!

Stiles nodding, still thinking it was his fault but deciding trying to argue that wasn't worth it. He tilted his head back against the couch to look up at the ceiling. He might need a cold shower or something.

Yeah, that one went double.

Derek sat back as well, trying and failing to not look at Stiles' lap. Because it was sort of the elephant in the room for him right now. "You can use the shower if you want."

And Derek could have alone time where he was riddled by guilt.

He really hated the fact the dress pants hid nothing. "Yeah okay."

He pushed himself off the couch to go do just that. Just don't draw attention to his crotch, he knew it was there. And it was embarrassing.

Three weeks. Three more damn weeks. They made it this far, that shouldn't even be a problem for them!

And yet...

Derek cleared his throat, hands on his thighs like it would keep attention away from himself. "I'll use the other one." Because it was a mansion, alright? They had a few bathrooms.

"You going to bed straight after?" That question was not meant to be dirty. That was more of a "do you want to watch a movie" question.

"Did you want stay?" AFTER THEIR AWKWARDNESS THERE.

"When don't I want to stay?" After huge fights but shhh.

Yes, after those.

Derek nodded slowly. "You can pick a movie if you want."

"Okay. After the shower." Because he really needed one. "Taking some of your clothes too."

He had his own, but he'd rather wear Derek's. For reasons.

He really wasn't making this easier on Derek, was he?

Derek inhaled deeply, digging his fingers into the palms of his hands. "Alright," he croaked.

For that, he was wearing all Stiles' stuff.
