Non-Creepy Mansion | Monday Morning

When Stiles woke up Monday morning he was completely human (that he knew of). And almost completely back to normal except for two things. One, he was now dressed in a manner that Jackson and Isaac would have probably approved of (this version of Stiles ditched the plaid and wore more flattering stuff) and, two, he woke up with a nosebleed.

"Oh fuck," he said, holding his hand up to his nose. That couch would need to be cleaned, definitely.

"Aww, you missed me." You will deal with the teasing if you wanted bacon, Derek.

Oh, Stiles. He will get you back for this. Don't make him.

"I said that." He most certainly did not.

"I don't really think you did," he said, trying not to smile.

Derek rolled his eyes, closing the distance between them before he put his hands on the sides of Stiles' neck and his forehead against his. Because he was a sappy motherfucker and really, Stiles should have known better on this.

"My anchor isn't working as well as it has before," he muttered, looking at Stiles' mouth rather than his eyes. "So you being---"

A giant spaz? A bag of peas? Who knew!

"Helped."

Aw yeah, he got his disgustingly romantic gesture on there.

Stiles inhaled sharply, not expecting that at all. "Oh."

"Are you okay?" he asked, not wanting to presume anything. "Your anchor is a pretty big deal."

"My anchor after my family was killed was anger," Derek said, inhaling deeply before remembering he ought to be giving Stiles his space.

Stiles didn't much care about personal space at the moment considering he was twisting his hands in Derek's shirt. "And that's not working anymore. Because you're not as angry anymore? Or because your happiness is distracting you from it?"

"Is one better than the other?" Derek asked. And yes, he was petting The nape of Stiles' neck. What of it?

Stiles shrugged. "Just wanted to know if I should feel bad about messing up your anchor."

He said it lightly though, because honestly in his opinion Derek's happiness came first.

"I'd rather be happy and struggle to control myself than unhappy and in perfect control," Derek said after an awkward pause.

[robinonadderall]

"I'm in complete agreement," he said with a nod. "It'll get easier."

Possibly after relieving some, ahem, tension between the two of them.

There is that, yes. All that tension.

Probably didn't help with the touching happening. "It will," Derek agreed. He nodded, forcing himself to take a step back before more of that salacious hugging could happen. "It doesn't stay the same your whole life anyway."

"Thank god," he said. "Scott would be in real trouble if that was the case."

"Pretty sure my little sister's first anchor was Elmo," Derek said. Because deal with it, Stiles.

That drew a surprised laugh out of Stiles. "That's terrible."

[justlurkinghere]

"Mine might have been a Power Ranger," Derek added, unable to keep himself from smiling at that and leaning closer.

[robinonadderall]

"That's even worse! Please tell me it was at least a cool Power Ranger." Stiles, of course, did not back away any and didn't do anything to release his grip on Derek's shirt. Because he lived to encourage any and all rule breaking.

His immediate needs outranked any awkwardness later.

Damn it, Stiles! This was all clearly your fault!

"And which one was the cool one?" Derek asked, propping himself up with a hand on the counter top so at least his feet weren't near Stiles. Which made a complete difference.

Can you guys have a serious conversation without flirting? Can you?

No, no they could not.

"Well definitely not the blue one," he said. "He was a big nerd."

Okay, so long as this is acknowledged. "The red one then?"

[robinonadderall]

"That would be an acceptable choice," Stiles said, tugging on Derek's shirt a little. "Still a big dork for having a Power Ranger for an anchor though."

"Mine would probably be Reese's Cups."

[justlurkinghere]

Well, if he was being tugged forward, of course Derek was going to keep leaning in. "Remind me why I'm interested in you again."

[robinonadderall]

"Probably some combination of my good looks and intellect," he said jokingly. "And the fact I don't take any of your crap."

[justlurkinghere]

"Probably the latter," Derek admitted. "But the rest doesn't hurt."

[robinonadderall]

"I'm gonna take that as a sign to keep fighting you on everything," Stiles said. "Just so you don't lose interest in me."

Yeah that was the reason, sure.
