Waking up to somebody spooning him was a rare, if not wholly unfamiliar, feeling for Stiles. He turned his head enough to make sure that it was Derek doing the spooning before relaxing again and facing forward. Then he took a second to pull a pillow out from underneath his shirt.

Which just made him start to laugh. Because seriously. This island.

So very normal. There were married couples less domestic than this. "Come on, even other humans think I'm lowly."

He was mostly joking.

"That's because people are stupid," Derek replied with a shrug, taking a sip from his own mug.

Stiles smiled a little. "Do you realize when you're being cute or is this just happening by accident?"

"It comes naturally." Like the flirting!

[robinonadderall]

"Ah, I see," he said with a nod. "Well my adorableness comes from years of practice so you should appreciate it."

"When I see it, I'll appreciate it," Derek replied, taking a seat on another chair so that this was just normal talking.

Is it ever just normal talking for them? Is it? "I haven't been adorable for you once? Not even one time?"

...maybe when they discuss food?

"Let me think..." He shook his head. "Can't think of anything."

[robinonadderall]

"Wow, I take back what I said, you're not cute at all," Stiles said. "You're the opposite of it, in fact."

[justlurkinghere]

"Stiles. Think of the children."

SAY THAT NEXT WEEK, DEREK.

"You mean the pillow upstairs?" Because ahahaha Stiles would freak out over an actual kid belonging to him.

"Please tell me you don't still think that's possible, Right?"

[robinonadderall]

Stiles rolled his eyes. "No, I don't actually think that's possible."

For the most part. But there were other ways to have kids! He just didn't want to mention it because, again, freak out.

"Good." Derek nodded and looked down at his coffee. "You were cute upstairs."

There. He said it.

"I wasn't even doing anything upstairs." Except laughing at how stupid their weekend was.

[justlurkinghere]

"Yes you were."

[robinonadderall]

"I was laughing at how dumb our lives are sometimes," he said. "That does it for you?"

Derek shrugged at that. "Is that hard to believe?"

[robinonadderall]

"Well, yeah." Come on, he had been laughing at how stupid his life was for years and nobody thought much of it before. "But, hey, if you like it I'm not gonna complain."

Their lives needed constant laughing at. This was true.

"You looked happy," Derek clarified. "It was nice."

[robinonadderall]

"Oh." And now he was looking at anything but Derek. "Yeah, I could see why you'd like that."

Derek looked into his empty coffee mug, letting that awkward silence stretch out in between them.

[robinonadderall]

"I don't know if you've noticed but there's a direct correlation between your presence and my happiness," he said. "Well, most of the time."

'Cause Derek also had a talent of knowing how to piss him off.

[justlurkinghere]

"Most of the time," Derek repeated. He cleared his throat and looked away. "Likewise."

Stiles smiled again. "Wanna put something on Netflix before we share anymore feelings?"
