Waking up to somebody spooning him was a rare, if not wholly unfamiliar, feeling for Stiles. He turned his head enough to make sure that it was Derek doing the spooning before relaxing again and facing forward. Then he took a second to pull a pillow out from underneath his shirt.

Which just made him start to laugh. Because seriously. This island.

"Yes you were."

"I was laughing at how dumb our lives are sometimes," he said. "That does it for you?"

Derek shrugged at that. "Is that hard to believe?"

[robinonadderall]

"Well, yeah." Come on, he had been laughing at how stupid his life was for years and nobody thought much of it before. "But, hey, if you like it I'm not gonna complain."

Their lives needed constant laughing at. This was true.

"You looked happy," Derek clarified. "It was nice."

[robinonadderall]

"Oh." And now he was looking at anything but Derek. "Yeah, I could see why you'd like that."

Derek looked into his empty coffee mug, letting that awkward silence stretch out in between them.

[robinonadderall]

"I don't know if you've noticed but there's a direct correlation between your presence and my happiness," he said. "Well, most of the time."

'Cause Derek also had a talent of knowing how to piss him off.

"Most of the time," Derek repeated. He cleared his throat and looked away. "Likewise."

[robinonadderall]

Stiles smiled again. "Wanna put something on Netflix before we share anymore feelings?"

[justlurkinghere]

"You pick," Derek said with a quick smile back. "Because someone cries."

[robinonadderall]

"Yeah, Puppy Joe," Stiles said, going for the remote. "Stop crying about what we pick."

[justlurkinghere]

"He just doesn't like reality TV."

Not like Derek did, at least.

[robinonadderall]

"I don't even want to know how much you force him to watch when I'm not here." Stiles was picking a Disney movie and everybody could just deal with it.

[justlurkinghere]

"Not that much." So, so much.

Derek watched him rather than the TV for a moment. Because he was that person. That creepy person.

It was super creepy. And, worse, it was something Stiles was used to. "Then why are all the Netflix recs reality shows?"

[justlurkinghere]

"Mike?"

That was a damn dirty lie.

[robinonadderall]

"You are such a liar," Stiles said, shaking his head. "Just admit you've got a problem."
