Should Be Christmasy Mansion | Sunday Night

Stiles had gotten better from whatever devil sickness he had about three days into his stay at Beacon Hills but his dad had kept coming up with excuses of why he should stay. Which Stiles found sort of suspicious because, hi, he had school. Then Scott had told him about the texts Isaac had been sending him about the crazy shit going down in Fandom and it had all made sense. He should have never given Derek his dad's number, what a dumb move.

He felt like he should have been angrier than he was, but in truth he was just so exhausted from his trip that he didn't care. Being that close to the nemeton wasn't great for his already crappy sleeping habits and it worried him that Scott seemed more together than he was. Stiles felt kind of like an asshole for being worried about that, but whatever.

It was getting pretty late by the time he made it back to the island and it just seemed like he was programmed to go to the mansion instead of his dorm room these days. He didn't actually remember walking there from the causeway, which he was crediting to typical ADHD zoning out rather than something nemeton-related and worrying. He scooped up Puppy Joe when he came to the door to greet him and headed into the kitchen for a soda or something. Because clearly caffeine was needed this late at night.

"I have news for you, both the alpha and the strongest member of the so-called pack are in the same dilemma I'm in." So that left Isaac and Lydia. Isaac was basically useless and Lydia...well, Lydia was good but she wasn't that good.

Stiles didn't want to keep contradicting Derek though. He should probably appreciate someone being supportive, even if he didn't necessarily think they were right.

So he stretched his legs out again until they were resting across Derek's legs because that was a totally normal thing friends did and forced himself to stop being so tense. "I'm not crazy yet."

"I know." Of course he had known all along that Derek would help him. It was getting over his fear of Derek getting hurt while trying to help him that was the hard part. But he'd have to learn to get over it.

"Could you just stay there until I fall asleep?" It wasn't anywhere near as comforting as what they used to do, but he'd make do with what he had.

Meanwhile Stiles would worry in the morning about how he probably freaked Derek out by being all truthful and vulnerable.

They were a special pair.

For now though Stiles was making himself more comfortable and hoping he'd fall asleep quickly since he didn't want to bother Derek any longer than he had to. It didn't seem like it'd be a problem tonight; Stiles was exhausted between a week of sleepless nights in Beacon Hills and being all emotional with Derek tonight.

This whole truthful thing was going to be hard, but he'd give it his best shot.
