Not Creepy Mansion | Monday Afternoon

It hadn't been a great night in the ways of sleeping and there was a scratchiness in this throat that indicated that he was either talking a lot last night in his sleep or he was coming down with a cold. He didn't know which one would be worse. He had gone out to get a peppermint mocha that was 70% whipped cream and turned to go to the mansion instead of to the dorms, which should surprise no one. It was a nice, scenic walk, okay? He was enjoying the caroling.

Now he was curled up on the couch with his coffee and a blanket like that was the key to fighting off a potential cold or something.

[For the people in the house and anybody that wants to stop by, of course]

"No, stay here." So they could avoid a fight on whether or not Stiles was actually getting sick.

"I really can't stay." Why has his voice gone all sing-y at that?

Stiles lifted an eyebrow, wanting to mock Derek for that but what came out was a sing-y, "Baby, it's cold outside."

Baby? He never called anybody baby. He especially never sang it.

Well, apparently he was entering a new chapter of his life where he sang 'baby' at people.

"I've got to go away," Derek sang back. Unwillingly, might he add!

"Baby, it's cold outside." This was terrible. So terrible. Please go, Derek.

If only it was that easy! Oh wait, it was.

"This evening has been," Derek added, grabbing for his jacket with so, so much anger.

"--Been hoping you'd drop by." Why did this song make him sound like a creeper? He wasn't a creeper, he had a cold. There was no time to be a creeper!

Well, they both tended to be creepy in their own ways. So.

"So very nice," Derek replied like it physically pained him. Where the hell was his wallet?!

"I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice." Find your damn wallet, Derek! Maybe if your pants weren't so tight you could keep it in the pocket comfortably like every other guy on the planet.

YOU LEAVE HIS JEANS ALONE.

"My mother will start to worry." OH GOD, THIS WAS HELL. DEREK WAS IN HELL.

"Beautiful, what's your hurry?" Ummmmmm Stiles had it worse being the creeper, here.

Yeah, but Derek was singing the female half of the duet here.

"My father will be pacing the floor," Derek sang, tossing aside a couch cushion to find the damn wallet. Because otherwise he'd just be sitting outside and brooding. And letting Stiles die of pneumonia.

Oh god, Derek, he did not have pneumonia.

"Listen to the fireplace roar." There was no fireplace roaring. At all.

YOU DON'T KNOW THAT FOR SURE.

"Maybe just a half a drink more." Okay, song version of him was kinda easy. Derek rolled his eyes at how easy 'he' gave in.

Let's be real, Derek. If Stiles was over eighteen you'd probably still be easy even without the singing.

"Put some records on while I pour." Records? Who even owned records anymore? Aside from hipster douches.

Where the hell was your wallet, Derek?

Rude.

If that wallet was under you, Stiles. So help him.

"The neighbors might think..." That got a distressed face because it was a legit concern.

"Baby, it's bad out there." It was not. Not even a hint of snow out there. It was mildly chilly.

And, yeah, the wallet might be under him.

"Say, what's in this drink?"

Okay, what?

Great, now he sounded like a date rapist. "No cabs to be had out there."

Well there wasn't. But, hey, at least he was wriggling around and digging under his blanket like he realized he was sitting on something weird.

Derek shoved his hand out so this nightmare would end. "I wish I knew how--"

"Your eyes are like starlight now." Stiles managed to grab the wallet and tossed it at Derek, quickly looking away to avoid said starlight eyes.

Well, his eyes were pretty amazing...

"To break this spell--" that was sung much more emphatically as Derek caught the wallet.

"I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell." Stiles rolled his eyes at the cheesy lyrics and made shoo'ing motions at Derek to get the hell out. The singing was making his throat even worse on top of being embarrassing.

"I ought to say no, no," Derek shot back with an annoyed huff as he made his escape.

Oh thank god. Too bad he didn't leave before Stiles had to ask, "Mind if I move in closer?"
