Not Creepy Mansion | Monday Afternoon

It hadn't been a great night in the ways of sleeping and there was a scratchiness in this throat that indicated that he was either talking a lot last night in his sleep or he was coming down with a cold. He didn't know which one would be worse. He had gone out to get a peppermint mocha that was 70% whipped cream and turned to go to the mansion instead of to the dorms, which should surprise no one. It was a nice, scenic walk, okay? He was enjoying the caroling.

Now he was curled up on the couch with his coffee and a blanket like that was the key to fighting off a potential cold or something.

[For the people in the house and anybody that wants to stop by, of course]

Great, now he sounded like a date rapist. "No cabs to be had out there."

Well there wasn't. But, hey, at least he was wriggling around and digging under his blanket like he realized he was sitting on something weird.

Derek shoved his hand out so this nightmare would end. "I wish I knew how--"

"Your eyes are like starlight now." Stiles managed to grab the wallet and tossed it at Derek, quickly looking away to avoid said starlight eyes.

Well, his eyes were pretty amazing...

"To break this spell--" that was sung much more emphatically as Derek caught the wallet.

"I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell." Stiles rolled his eyes at the cheesy lyrics and made shoo'ing motions at Derek to get the hell out. The singing was making his throat even worse on top of being embarrassing.

"I ought to say no, no," Derek shot back with an annoyed huff as he made his escape.

Oh thank god. Too bad he didn't leave before Stiles had to ask, "Mind if I move in closer?"

See, they were lucky that it had run it's course by the time Derek got back with an ungodly amount of cold medicines, cough drops, tissues, and the fixings to make chicken soup.

Someone had managed to get his phone to find him a recipe that was 'guaranteed' to cure the cold. "Everyone is singing again," Derek said, dropping the bag of medicine on Stiles.

Such helpful.

"No kidding," Stiles said, making a face at the bag that so rudely got dropped at him. "What's this?"

"Take something. I'm not dealing with you when you're sick."

Meaning he would smother you with awkward caring.

"We have not yet established if I'm sick or not," Stiles said. "My throat's just sore, I could have been talking in my sleep last night."

Or screaming.

Yeah, Derek was aware what kind of 'talking' happened.

"If you're not sick, then go back to your dorm," Derek replied, taking his chicken soup making bag into the kitchen.

"What? Why?" Stiles asked, getting up from the couch and following Derek into the kitchen. He was taking the blanket with him and completely ignoring the medicine.

"Are you this difficult with your dad?"

Oh god, why was he even equating the two. Ugh. This was the worst.

But Derek soldiered on, putting the bag on the counter and pretending nothing at all was awkward. Mostly by scowling. Aww yeah. He nailed nonchalant.

"My dad's never kicked me out of the house for not being sick." He also did not buy half a drugstore for Stiles when he had a cold. Mostly because he had seen a lot of teenagers addicted to prescription meds and therefore had weird ideas about the dangers of NyQuil.

...you can get addicted to that stuff? GODDAMN IT, DEREK NEEDED TO WATCH MORE DATELINE.

"Take some medicine. You're sick. I can smell it." When in doubt, pull out the werewolf powers.

"That's creepy." Just for the record.

Derek just stared at him as he started taking things out of the bag. There was a can of soup in there just in case this turned out badly.

Which was possible.

[robinonadderall]

Stiles looked down at the ingredients momentarily before looking up at Derek with a surprised look on his face. "Are you making me soup?"

"It's supposed to help, right?"

[robinonadderall]

"It keeps you hydrated, which is important to getting better faster," Stiles said. "You don't have to make me soup though."

[justlurkinghere]

"Well, you're not taking any of the medicine." That Mike will find and wonder what the hell.

[robinonadderall]

"I've had the medicine for all of two seconds," he said. "Besides, that stuff's not a cure it just treats the symptoms for awhile. You just have to let a cold run it's course and hope it's not actually bronchitis or something."

Not helping, Stiles.

"...bronchitis." DAMN IT, STILES.

"Yeah, sometimes colds are actually bronchitis and you can't tell at first," Stiles said, not realizing he was digging himself deeper right now. "That's an infection in the tubes that go to your lungs so there's a lot of coughing and nastiness and you have to go on antibiotics."
