It was a pretty well known fact that unless physically forced or woken up by a nightmare, Stiles would pretty much sleep his day away if he had nowhere to be. Sometimes the smell of coffee could lure him out of bed, but only if he was past the completely passed out stage of sleep. So despite going to bed annoyed last night, Stiles was still at the house and was still commandeering Derek's bed.

Or half of it, rather. At some point during the night half of him had fallen off the bed, so his face was pressed up against the floor while his lower half was still resting comfortably on the bed.

Don't ask how he could sleep like that. It was a mystery of life.

[For Derek! I'm gonna be on major SP at certain points during the day. Ugh I have appointments like an adult or something]

"Well what am I not understanding?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"How important a pack. It's not just some--" Derek bit off what he was about to say next, walked away to pace. "--it's not people who only show up because there's no alternative."

"I don't think Scott's pack is like that," Stiles said. "I mean, we all like each other. Except Isaac. I don't really like Isaac."

"That's what I'm saying, Stiles."

[robinonadderall]

"But he likes Scott!" Stiles said. "It's a bunch of people who are on Team Scott, pretty much."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek just sighed. Because this discussion was just going off the rails again.

[robinonadderall]

"Dude, I'm just trying to understand," Stiles said, sighing right back at him. "What does the whole Scott pack thing have to do with us?"

[justlurkinghere]

"Nothing." That, you know, could be mentioned out loud.

[robinonadderall]

"So the reason you're weird about it is because we're not doing the pack thing right?" There was a dubious look over that coffee cup. So dubious!

DUBIOUS IT UP, YO.

"Yeah."

[robinonadderall]

Yeah he so did not believe that at all. But since he was human he couldn't prove it. Boo hoo.

"I think that's something you're just gonna have to get over," Stiles said. "I mean, it's Scott. He was never going to do things the way they're apparently supposed to be."

Because why clear things up when you're from Beacon Hills.

Derek took another sip of his coffee.

"I can't believe you said college is where I'll blossom." Jokingly or not, that was horrifying coming out of Derek's mouth.

"Laura said it," Derek muttered.

[robinonadderall]

"She said you'd blossom in college?" Don't laugh, Stiles. Don't laugh.

"Apparently I wasn't social enough for her." WONDER WHY.

[robinonadderall]

"You? Not social?" Stiles asked. "I don't believe it."

[justlurkinghere]

"I'm glad you didn't fall over from the shock," Derek deadpanned.

[robinonadderall]

"So is this you fully blossomed?" Stiles asked, gesturing at Derek.

[justlurkinghere]

"Like a rose." Really, guys?

[robinonadderall]

"You give me hope for my future blossoming." Oh the metaphors here.

[justlurkinghere]

"You're a delicate bud." Yeah, on the outside, this could be awkward.

[robinonadderall]

"Delicate? I don't think so, buddy," Stiles said, shaking his head. "I am totally masculine and stuff."

[justlurkinghere]

"...sure."

"A special kind of masculine!" he insisted. "That is totally manly."
