No Longer Piratey Mansion | Friday Late Morning

It was a pretty well known fact that unless physically forced or woken up by a nightmare, Stiles would pretty much sleep his day away if he had nowhere to be. Sometimes the smell of coffee could lure him out of bed, but only if he was past the completely passed out stage of sleep. So despite going to bed annoyed last night, Stiles was still at the house and was still commandeering Derek's bed.

Or half of it, rather. At some point during the night half of him had fallen off the bed, so his face was pressed up against the floor while his lower half was still resting comfortably on the bed.

Don't ask how he could sleep like that. It was a mystery of life.

[For Derek! I'm gonna be on major SP at certain points during the day. Ugh I have appointments like an adult or something]

"A special kind of masculine!" he insisted. "That is totally manly."

"I'm feeling emasculated by it," Derek assured him.

"Damn straight you are," Stiles said with a firm nod.

"Try to keep it under wraps if you can."

"Oh no, I'm telling everybody," Stiles said. "I'm taking an ad out on radio."

"They do ads?"

"I'm sure if I pay the squirrels enough rum they'll do one for me," he said. "They're easily bribed like that."

""I'd like to see you try that," Derek replied dryly.

"Really?" he asked. "You want your shame known across the whole island like that."

It was good nobody was around to call them out on their blatant flirting right now.

Puppy Joe was there to judge him on it. And judge he did.

"Will people believe it?"

"I believe it." What a liar. "That's all that matters."

"Say that again." THATS RIGHT, HE HEARD THE LIE.

"I forgot what I was saying." And the lies keep on coming.

"Uh huh." He believed that. Really. "Do you need a reminder?"

...how, Derek? By shirtless demonstrations of masculinity?

"Yes, yes I do," Stiles said. "Remind me."

Rather than a shirtless display of raw masculinity, Derek rolled his eyes and grabbed Stiles' cup for a refill. "You're an idiot."

"You love it." Or barely tolerated it. Whichever.

"Shouldn't you be applying soon?"

"For what? Schools?" he asked. "In a few months, yeah. Gotta pick the ones I really want to apply to first. UMD is a definite yes, they've got an awesome criminology program."

"Visit the campuses to see." Just don't go to the Midwest. Or Florida. Or California.

"Not a bad idea," Stiles said. "Could take the jeep and make a road trip out of it."

"Try to avoid certain death on it." Since that's your new thing, Stiles.

Stiles lifted his eyebrows. "Seriously, you're going to let me go alone?"

"Is this you asking me to go?" To pay for gas and hotel rooms.

"It'd save you the trouble of calling every five minutes." So, yes.
