Stiles usually wasn't too huge of a fan of Fandom weirdness affecting him, but he had to admit once in awhile good things came from it. The milkshake deliciousness from Sunday, for example. Another example? The island having even less patience with Stiles growing out his hair than Stiles himself had. When he woke up Wednesday he found that the awkward porcupine hair he had been hiding under a hat the last few weeks had turned into something he wouldn't mind being seen sporting in public. And it took half the time it usually did. Thanks, Fandom!

Now what was he going to do with this hat? It smelled kind of weird. Could you put hats in the wash? Maybe it was a lost cause. It might need to be burned. Or given to Puppy Joe as a chew toy.

"Aww." That was the mildest 'aww' he was ever going to hear. "It's probably not going to happen."

Very reassuring.

"This is Fandom, good things probably don't just happen," he said. "I should be on my guard."

"Really?"

It may have actually beenaccurate, but it was possible Natalie had ulterior motives in asking.

Moxy wandered off to sniff at Cade's stuff.

Stiles suspected most of Cade's stuff wasn't his stuff at all, so it was probably appropriate that someone else sniffed around it.

"I'll probably be on my guard for all of five minutes before I forget about it," he admitted. "I have issues with impulse control."

"So you're impulsive?" Natalie asked, with another slight tilt of her head. Totally forgetting to blink like a normal person. "Hmm."

Hey, unblinking was kind of hot. Well. It was hot when it was a hot person doing it.

"It's half ADHD thing," he said. "...the other half is just a Stiles thing."

[whenshewasnice]

"And therefore at least partially sweet or somewhat amusing," Natalie remarked. "Nothing wrong with impulsive."

She could think of quite a few things, actually. But it was all a matter of context, wasn't it?

"Yeah?" That earned Natalie a goofy smile where he looked kind of in awe. "Well that's a first."

[whenshewasnice]

"Some of my best friends are impulsive." In a rushing into fights without second thought kind of way, but still.

She stepped closer. "I've been led to believe I give off the impression I'm not."

"Really?" Stiles said, trying not to fidget too badly. Her moving closer made him a little nervous, okay? "I think what happened in Turkey might have been slightly impulsive. Not that I minded it, clearly."

Oh relax, Stiles, she was just reaching out to ruffle your hair a bit.

Okay, maybe that was a bit innvasive and worth being nervous about.

"Well, that's why I said I give that impression. Not that it's necessarily true."

Stiles smiled a bit, though he still was a little tense from nervousness. "You're the first person to ruffle my hair, you should be proud."

He had the feeling that was going to be happening a lot considering how seemed to be a little brother surrogate to half the town.

Well, his hair was kind of adorable. But his older sibling surrogates probably weren't going to linger as long or look as vaguely fascinated as Natalie did.

"Mm, a small honour is still an honour."

[robinonadderall]

"Feels nice," Stiles said quietly. "If I had known I would have grown out my hair sooner."

He definitely would have done it sooner if he had known it would lead to hot girls touching him.

Natalie half smiled, and while it was faint it was also still somehow more genuine than all her previous little smirks. A little less intense and a little more human. A little more Natalie, some might have even said.

"These things are hard to predict," she said. "Someone else might have pulled on it, and you would have a different opinion."

Her fingers brushed over his temple and his cheek before she withdrew her hand again.

"It kind of depends on who was doing the hair pulling." Whoa, that was almost flirting or something. Extra touching made him brave, apparently.

Natalie's smile turned a little more amused.

"Fair enough," she said, with just the slightest little nod. "I've done that before. No complaints so far."

"Who would complain?" he asked. "I certainly wouldn't."

"Some people are delicate flowers."

There was definitely a dry drawl to that statement. Natalie and delicate flowers were a bit hit and miss.

[robinonadderall]

"I'm definitely not a delicate flower. Just, you know, for the record." The amount of times he got teary eyed in canon begged to differ, but...

[whenshewasnice]

"Good to know." Oh there was that mildly predatory look again. You know, for fun. Or because she had emotional issues. Who even knew, really? "Delicate flowers are so breakable."

[robinonadderall]

"I'm not really a flower at all." Okay, virginity-wise he was. "I'm more like a...tree. Something woodsy."

[whenshewasnice]

"Oh, you're definitely flowery in at least one way." She knew he was a virgin, let's be real. "But other than that, I'd guess something like a willow."

[robinonadderall]

Stiles thought about that for a moment (it helped keep down the blushing from the flower comment). "I'll take it. The one from Pocahontas was sassy."

"And they bend without breaking." A quality Natalie found admirable. Sincerely, even. "Not a bad thing to be."
