Stiles had somehow managed to survive four years of college without flunking out and without being killed by some supernatural being. The former was surprising to him; the latter to everyone else. The ceremony was done, his father was safely on a plane home and the only thing left was existential dread of entering the workforce.

Well. Derek and the dog were in the house too.

"That's very true," he said. "Though I'm pretty sure all he'd do is tease us until you die of embarrassment."

"Which is worse." And probably a glimpse into how Stiles would traumatize future kids.

"Gotta admit that'd be hard to put on a death certificate," he joked.

Derek groaned, hiding his face against Stiles' neck.

"You are way too much like your dad."

"Thank you," Stiles said, reaching back to tug on Derek's hair playfully.

He huffed, tilting his head and shifting closer. You know. In case Stiles wanted to do that again.

"Feeling better?'

Stiles took the hint and just left his hand in Derek's hair so he could run his fingers through it. "A little. It's just weird."

"You're going to do great. Just don't shoot yourself again."

Literally never letting that go.

Stiles rolled his eyes. "It was one time."

"One time too many," Derek shot back, kissing his neck again.

"I think it'll be a little while before I get to the point where other people will be shooting at me," he said. "I think I have to do my time chained to a desk with paperwork first."

"I'm okay with that." Oddly enough!

Stiles smiled. "Yeah I thought you would be."

"You could go into forensic accounting." Derek, stop watching Investigation Discovery.

[robinonadderall]

"That sounds really boring."

[justlurkinghere]

"Just because you were solving murders in your teens."

[robinonadderall]

"Well then it was a hobby," he said. "Now I want to be paid for it."

"Oh," Derek said with a laugh. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize it was a hobby before."

"Did my murder room not give that away?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"It seemed very professional " Derek assured him with a kiss.

[robinonadderall]

"So what are you going to busy yourself with when I'm working?" he asked.

[justlurkinghere]

"I could get a job." One that allowed him to flower at people.

[robinonadderall]

"Do you want to get a job?" he asked. "It's not like we need the money."

[justlurkinghere]

"...not really," he admitted. "I've almist got the gardening thing down."

Only half the garden died so far!

"You have made leaps and bounds as a gardener," he said. "And you look good while doing it."
